Village
zoning
Ratepayers of the v111aae of
Grand Bend have until April 23
to study a proposed zoning bylaw
presented by the Municipal
Planning Consultants of Toronto.
The 85 page document, com-
plete with a map of the village
indicating proposed zoning, is
available at the office of village
clerk Louise Clipperton. The
bylaw must be signed for and
returned at a later date.
The bylaw has been drafted
with certain recommendations
from the village council and from
input by village ratepayers at a
public meeting held during the
past summer.
Jean Monteith of Municipal
Planning Consultants advised
council that a copy of the new
draft of the bylaw be forwarded
to the village solicitor for review
and also to the Ministry of
Housing.
Mrs. Monteith said once the
bylaw has been received and.
passed by council, the clerk
should reproduce the bylaw and
send a copy to each ratepayer.
Each ratepayer then ha;
fourteen days to submit written
comments or objections. An*
revisions will then be made a•
council's discretion.
The bylaw, along with a copy
of each objection by ratepayers,
is submitted to the Ontario
Municipal Board for approval.
Reeve Bob Sharen told the News
that council's main concern in
getting the bylaw passed was to
be more specific in zoning matt-
ers as the old bylaw was vague
in some cases. He said it was
hoped to get the matter settled
prior to the installation of sewers.
