Dashwood ladies entertain at Queensway

Queensway Residents
Entertained
Zion Lutheran Church Choir,
Dashwood entertained the resi-
dents on December 21. On
Monday December 22nd, the
residents had their Christmas
party. Santa Claus arrived and
gave all gifts and treats. Mrs.
Eric Luther played the piano
and sang Christmas carols.
Rev. W.D. Jarvis conducted
the church service on Tuesday.

Obituary
Blighton A. Ferg
Blighton A. Ferg passed away
at University Hospital London
on Tuesday Dec. 30th in his
68th year. He is survived by his
wife the former Alice Baillie,
a daughter Mrs. Charles (Ber-
nice) Eckel, Zurich, two grand-
children and a brother Kenneth,
Petrolia. One son predeceased
in 1939.
The late Mr. Ferg moved to
Hensall from the Monkton area
several years ago and was largely
known having operated the
Supertest Service Statin for many
years. He was a member of the
100F, Monktonlodge and a ser-
vice was held at the Funeral
Home on Thursday evening.
Funeral service was conducted
by Rev. Don Beck from the
Bonthron Funeral Chapel on
Friday at 2 p.m. with interment in
Alma Centre Cemetery, Atwood.
Mr. & Mrs. Sim Roobal passed
Christmas Day with their daugh-
ter, Mr. and Mrs. Don Dodds and
family.
Mrs. Laird Mickle, Charles and
Mrs. Florence Joynt spent the
twenty fourth of December with
Mr. and Mrs. Brian Collins and
baby Sarah in Kitchener and
Christmas Day with Mr. and Mrs.
Ross MacMillan and family in
Waterloo.
Mrs. David Kyle is a patient in
South Huron Hospital, Exeter.
W.M.S. Meet
The Women's Missionary
Society of Carmel Presbyterian
Church met in the school -room
of the church on Monday at
2 p.m. with Mrs. Harvey Hyde
President opening the meeting
with a meditation entitled `Facing
the New Year'. The Scripture
lesson was read by Mrs. Rochus
Faber.
Mrs. Hyde outlined the new
Study on 'Taiwan and Japan'.
The Presbyterial will be held in
Seaforth on January 14th at
1:30 p.m. The World's Day of
Prayer will be held in St. Paul's
Anglican Church on March Sth.
Mrs. Clarence Volland will be
in charge of the February meeting
at 2 p.m.
