by U.S. team
In the annual exchange visit
between Garden City Michigan
and Zurich, the Zurich atoms lost
both games by identical 2-1
margins.
According to co -coach Paul
Bedard 'the boys played their
heart out but they just couldn't
beat the goalie.'
In the first game Garden City
scored first at the 9:41 mark of
the first,
Midway through the second
period Aaron Bullock tied the
game up for the atoms with Mike
Bedard assisting.
Garden City scored the game
winning goal a little over three
minutes later,
The second game saw the home
team jump off to a 2-0 lead' with
goals midway through the second
and third periods.
Once again Bullock provided
the scoring punch for the atoms
with a goal at the 15 minute mark
of the third with Doug Schade
picking up the assist.

50 years married
Mr. and Mrs. Bert Klopp of RR
3, Zurich, Ontario celebrated
their 50th wedding anniversary
with a family dinner on Saturday
evening, November 26, 1977 at
the Green Forest Motor Hotel,
Grand Bend, Ontario.
The Master of Ceremonies was
Mr. Herb Klopp. Toasts were
given to the bride of 1927 and her
bridesmaid (Mrs. Lorne Klopp)
by Dr. H.K. Kalbfleisch, London,
and Dr. Roy Wentzell, Waterloo.
Replies were made by Mr. Lorne
Klopp, Zurich and Dr, James
Whitney, Waterloo. Best wishes
were extended to the couple by
Pastor Blackwell, Mr. Albert
Kalbfleisch, Mr. Wm. Duncan of
CIAG, Goderich, Mr. Karl
Haberer, Miss Margaret
Deichert, Kitchener, Miss Diane
Klopp and Mr. Lambert Klopp
(uncle of the groom of 1927) who
came from Washington D.C. to
be at the celebration. Mr. Jeff

ministered at the service Sunday
at Hensall United Church, the
second Sunday in Advent. The
service wasconducted ted byRev.

Don Beck and the second Advent
candle was lit by Mrs. Howard
Scane, Recording Steward, to
signify the Gift of Jesus, the Light
of the World. The choir, under the
direction of Mrs. John Turkheim,
sang, "Watchman, tell us of the
night". The sermon was on
repentance, which has to
penetrate the crusts of piety and
dig in deeper and deeper. God's
forgiveness is our salvation. An
arrangement of flowers was
placed in the church in memory
of the late Laird Mickle by his
family.

greetings from those unable to
attend the event. Messages of
congratulations were received
by Mr. and Mrs. Klopp from the
Hon. Jules Leger, Governor
General of Canada, Prime
Minister Trudeau, and Premier
Davis of Ontario. A scroll was
also presented by our member of
parliament, Mr. Jack Riddell,
from the province of Ontario.
A string quartet from the
U.W.O. music school provided
the music for the evening. On
Sunday, November 27, a tea was
held at their home from 1-5 p.m.
for relatives and friends.
