Hold benefit dance for Bayfield couple
Friends and relatives gathered
at the Recreation Hall at
Jellystone Park, Saturday
evening at a benefit dance for
Steve and Ruby Shanahan who
lost their home and all their
belongings in a fire Sunday Nov.
20. Despite the snow storm that
prevented many from a distance
attending, the Hall was packed in
aid of the young couple. Once
again proving that people do care
about people; especially in a
small community.

very successful Bazaar and Bake

News from Varna
by Mary Chessell
Did anyone happen to see
Grant Webster leading a large
billy goat up the Bannockburn
Hill early one Sunday morning
recently? Mr. Goat had wan-
dered down to Geo. Wilson's and
taken up residence on their
veranda. When they tried to go to
the' barn, they weren't too sure
whether he wanted to play or was
bent on defending his territory.
Apparently it was all bluff, as
he's never shown a tendency
towards aggressiveness.
Congratulations to Ervin and
Helen Keys who had a baby girl
on Sunday morning.
