Golden
Glimpses
Every morning that dawns
sunny and bright helps to boost
the morale of our Residents for
the day, and for that matter, all
the rest of us as well. Perhaps
that is one of the reasons that we
had such a wonderful response to
the bazaar and bake sale on
Saturday afternoon. On behalf of
the Home and members of the
Ladies Auxiliary, we wish to
express our gratitude to all who
attended the tea, all who made
bazaar items and donated baking
and particularly to the ladies of
the community who are not
members of the auxiliary but
made generous donations
towards the bazaar items and
bake table. The members of the
Auxiliary were more than
gratified with the proceeds of the
day.
A .cake, beautifully decorated
made by Mrs. Mary Lou Erb was
won by Mrs. Theresa Stark and
the draw for the fancy dressed
doll was won by Kathryn Orr.
Last Monday evening films
were shown followed by refresh-
ments.
The Ladies of Hensall United
Church sponsored the November
birthday party on Tuesday
evening. A programme of
humorous readings and musical
numbers was enjoyed. Residents
celebrating birthdays during the
month of November are Mrs.
Alice Baker, Mrs. Nellie Cleave,
Mr. William Decker, Miss Luella
Kuntz, Miss Marie Gelinas, Mrs.
Jane McGregor, Mrs. Susan
Snider and Mrs. Mary Weston.
Birthday gifts were distributed
and a beautiful orchid corsage
was presented to Miss Marie
Gelinas on the occasion of her
100th birthday.
Following the programme a
delicious lunch was served.
A number of our Residents
attended the movies at
Maplewoods on Thursday af-
