Sunday, Trinity Anglican
Church was filled to capacity,
for the Remembrance Day
Service. The lesson was read
by Morgan Smith and Harry
Baker and Philip Du Boulay
received the offering. The
flowers in the sanctuary were
given by Olive Rivers in memory
of her hsuband G. Norman Rivers
a veteran of the C.E.F. and Royal
Flying Corps, World War 1.
Veterans, Scouts, Cubs and
Brownies, members of Legion
Branch 140, Clinton, led by the
Clinton Legion Pipe Band and
colour Party, paraded through
the Village to the Church Service.
After listening to Reeve Ed.
Oddleifson, who recalled some of
his experiences and events prior
to and during the Second World
War, guests and congregation left
the Church for the Remembrance

A prayer commemorating the
dead was given by Rev. William
Bennett and a prayer for peace

were played on the bugle by
Roger McKinley. Names of Our
Glorious Dead were read by Fred
Clift and all joined in singing the
Royal Anthem. Rev. W. Bour-
deau pronounced the Benediction
and everyone retired to the Town
Hall where the Bayfield Lioness
Club served coffee, chocolate
milk and donuts.
Guild meets
Trinity Church Ladies Guild
met in the Parish Hall Tuesday
for their regular meeting with
president Vera Turner presiding.
Vina Parker read the scripture
"Remembrance Day" and Greta
Scotchmer read a reading en-
titled "Take Time".
The secretary's report was
given by Berthena Hammond and
the Treasurers report by Lorna
Merner, who also gave the Card
and flower report.
The hostess for December will
be Jeanne Bennett with Pat Van
Patter assisting.
Plans were finalized for the
Annual Bazaar on November 26
at 2 p.m. in the Parish Hall. The
meeting closed with the renewal
prayer and benediction followed
by a lovely lunch served by Lorna
Merner.
Speaker entertains
The Bayfield Lioness Club met
for its regular meeting last
Monday, at the Community
Centre with Lioness Ilse
Grillmeyer presiding. Fourteen
Lioness from Grand Bend joined
the Bayfield .Lioness for dinner
and to hear the guest speaker,
Lion Bruce Murray, Lion Bruce
is Past District Governor of
District A9 and Director of the
Youth Exchange program, which
is proving very successful.

This Saturday is the Lioness
'50's Dance, complete with ap-
propriate music by a D4 food and
refreshments and only $6.00 per
couple; so dig out your fifties rig
and have some fun.
The Lions and Lioness' will
have their Christmas dinner on
December 14 at 7 p.m.. Don't
forget to buy some tickets on the
large Christmas stocking,
Lioness members and Bayfield
stores have tickets. The Las
Vegas nite has been re -scheduled
for May 24 th weekend. An
executive meeting will be held
Monday, November 21 at the
home of Lioness Carolyn Snell.

Hensall seniors meet
The Three Links Senior
Citizens Club of Hensall met
Tuesday evening at the I.O.O.F.
Hall for euchre, Seven tables
were in play.
Winners were: ladies high,
Miss Mary Broadfoot; gents
high, Carl Payne; lone hands,
Mrs. Gladye Coleman; door
prize, Mrs. Rosa Harris; lucky
cup, Mrs. Bert Horton.
At the business session, the
treasurer reported a balance of
$1,186.53 in the New Horizons
account and $477.08 in the general
account. As the New Horizons
money has to be spent by the end
of the year it was decided to
purchase further quilting
materials, wool for knitting and
rug making, and crochet cotton.
Mrs. Gertie Moir, Mrs. Nellie
Riley and Mrs. Anita Bengough
were named to arrange for these
purchases. The treasurer also
reported that the monthly rent
would be $10 per month, starting
on January 1, 1978. The
December meeting is to be a
smorgasbord supper.
A report of the Fall Rally of
Zone eight was given by Mrs.
Laird' Mickle and Mrs. Rosa
Harris. The spring rally is to be
held in the Exeter Legion Hall on
April 12.
Stanley group
plans to curl
The Recreation Committee has
arranged for curling to be held on
Thursday nights at 9:00. Weekly
fees have been set at $2.50 per
person. There will be instruction
for new curlers this coming
Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the
Vanastra Curling Club. News of
last Sunday's practice, un-
fortunately, was too late for the
paper.
If you wish to play basketball,
come to Huron Centennial School
gym on Monday, November 21
and register. There will be teams
for everyone froml0 years of age
up.
The Senior Citizens Christmas
party will be on the afternoon of
December 14, so please make a
note of it on your calendar.
