Golden Glimpses
News from Blue Water Rest Home
On Monday evening one of a
series of films was shown in the
dining room of the Blue Water
Rest Horde.
The monthly birthday party,
sponsored by the laides of Grand
Bend United Church was held
Tuesday evening. Residents
enjoyed a variety program,
consisting of piano and violin
numbers by Mr. and Mrs. Ross
Love of Dashwood, banjo and
vocal numbers by Roy Morenz.
Those having October birthdays
were presented with gifts from
the Ladies Auxiliary. They were
Scott Chandler, Pearl Gale,
Adeline Kraft and Alma South-
cott. Cake and ice cream were
served.
On Friday afternoon a number
of residents enjoyed the autumn
scenery on a bus tour through
Grand Bend and surrounding
area.
Bingo was played on Friday
evening.
Residents who visited families
and friends over Thanksgiving
weekend and during the week

hold fowl supper

Twenty-two members and their
guests were present for the an-
nual fowl supper prepared and
served by group 1 with Mrs.
Lorne Becker convener. Five
plates were sent out.
President Mrs. Lorne Genttner
conducted a brief business
meeting. The Altar Guild
reported 18 visits and two plants.
The new Guild is Mrs. Howard
Datars and Mrs. Louella Tieman.
Games and fellowship followed.
Ross Love, Charles Martene,
Mrs. Pearl Miller, Mrs. Edith
Beierling and Everett Haist,
members of Dashwood Senior
Citizens, attended the Zone 8
Rally at Brussels, Wednesday,
October 12.
Rev. & Mrs. Getz were guests
with Mr. & Mrs. Mervyn Tieman,
also calling on friends.
Dr. V. Gulens is confined to St,
Joseph's hospital, London.
Mrs. Ken McCrae underwent
surgery in *St. Joseph's hospital,
London, Monday.

invited their families to join them
for the annual Thanksgiving
family dinner. During the af-
ternoon and evening Idella
Gabel, Dorcas Gingerich, Lenore
Turkheim and Eric Luther
provided background music on
the organ. Mr. Luther also ac-
companied Mrs. Luther and Mrs.
Britton who sang. We are
grateful to the Ladies Auxiliary
and kitchen staff for providing a
Thanksgiving meal for such a
large number of guests.
Thursday, October 20, at 2 p.m.
and 7 p.m. the movie "Hans
Anderson" will be shown in the
recreation room of the
Maplewoods Apartments. The
people who have planned these
movies are hoping for good turn-
outs.
We regret that Christine
O'Leary is again in South Huron
Hospital at Exeter.
