Darlene Eckel, a former Zurich girl, was the winner. The auxiliary began their fall program by entertaining residents in the dining room Tuesday evening. The program consisted of piano and violin selections by Joseph Boland and Alfred Denomme and other musical numbers and tap dance routines by the family of Mr, & Mrs. Leon Bedard of the Blue Water Highway. The decision will not cost the board anything since the ministry of education is in- creasing its support for the teaching of French as a second. language. Director of education John Cochrane told the board that the ministry offered grants for the classrooms, paying 100 percent of the costs up to $1,000. He laid he did not know what the equipment would entail but suspected it may include a record player and possibly some posters and ar- tifacts conducive to a French atmosphere in the classroom. The classrooms follow a pilot project sponsored by the ministry two years ago that set up one classroom in the county for teaching French0The change now increases that number to 24 classrooms in Huron. Cochrane said that the decision would not require the board to designate an extra classroom in each school but would mean that whatever room was being used currently to teach the subject would be the room equipped by. the Ministry. illiwi_c-TLI‘__ F-Tir-- Kleenex FACIAL TISSUES BATHROOM TISSUE COFFEE Raid House & Garden BUG KILLER Detergent GARBAGE BAGS ][0,ATE: 200's 57' 4's 99' '3 1Ib. • 63 346g $11.69 10 lbs 4.58 20's 1 e77 Schneiders Vacuum Side Bacon Schneiders Fresh Country Style Ib. 1 .79 Sausage b.1•19 9 Schneiders Roasted Schneiders Roasted Ham & Bacon Minced Loaf b.9.75 Ham Ib. 1.25 Schneiders Roasted Country Style Loaf Ib. $1.25 Christies Coffee Breaks Christies Pirate Cookies Post Honeycombs • 16o 450 400 Fleischman's Corn Oil Margarine Five Roses All Purpose Flour Flavour Crystals Quench Shake 'N Bake Barbeque Chicken Shake 'N Bake Barbeque Pork Aylmer Soups Ragu Spaghetti Sauce Gold Seal Flaked Light Tuna Laura Secord Pure Strawberry Jam z.
