enjoy night out at resort
The youth of Zion Lutheran
church "Joy" held a recreational
meeting, Tuesday, August. 30 at
Grand Bend. Miniature golf and
lunch at a snack booth were
enjoyed.
Pastor and Mrs. Arthur Rader,
Marc, Sarah and Jonathan,
Bramalea, spent several days
last week with Mr. & Mrs. Elgin
Rader and Brian.
Mr. & Mrs. Sheldon Gould,
Dashwood
by Mrs. Irvin Rader
Windsor, spent the weekend with
Mr. & Mrs. Bill Chandler.
Mr. & Mrs. Harry Hayter
accompanied Mr. & Mrs. Joe
Bruce, Windsor, on a two week
visit to Nova Scotia. They visited
members of the Bruce family at
Truro, Nova Scotia, besides
visiting many places of interest.
They also visited with Mr. & Mrs.
Earl Vandahl and Earl (Jr),
Montreal. The Hayters returned
home by air.

spending the summer months

summer with his parents,

Stacey Rader spent the
weekend with her grandparents,
Mr. & Mrs. Irvin Rader. Other
holiday visitors were Miss
Sharon Rader and Mr. & Mrs.
Paul Rader, London.
Mrs, Gerald Keyes, Debbie,
Lisa and Darren, Masset, B.C.,
have returned home after
spending a month visiting friends
and relatives in this area.

spending several weeks with
their grandparents Mr. & Mrs.
Ernest Koehler. Their mother
Mrs. Anne Nagel and a friend
called for them on the weekend.
Plow match
anniversary
The 50th annual Huron County
plowing match and farm
machinery demonstration will be
sponsored by the Huron
Plowmen's Association at Allan
Walper's farm, Stephen Town-
ship, near Grand Bend.
Activities begin with the annual
coaching day on Thursday,
September 15 at 9:30 a.m. as well
as the Junior Match at 2 p.m.
Ray Montique, Jarvis,
assistant head judge for in-
ternational plowing matches in
Ontario will be one of the
coaches. Expert plowman, Roy
Craig, Caledon East, will also
offer very capable coaching
advice.
The Queen of the Furrow
competition and all the nine
regular plowing classes and
demonstrations will be held on
the main day, Saturday, Sep-
tember 17, beginning.at 9 a.m.
Added features will include
horseshoe pitching, log sawing as
well as ladies' and men's nail -
driving contests.
An added attraction at this
year's match will be a demon-
stration of the solar heating
system that Mr. & Mrs. Allan
Walper use to heat their home.
The 50th anniversary of the
Huron Plowmen's Association
will be celebrated on the evening
of October 20 with a banquet,
awards night and dance with the
Ian Wilbee orchestra supplying
music. Tickets may be obtained
from directors_ of the
Association.
The 1977 international plowing
match and farm machinery
demonstration will be staged on
the farm of Greenless Brothers
and Sons Limited, and neigh-
bouring farms in Frontenac
County near Kingston, Sep-
tember 27 to October 1; The Huron
County Committee '78 I.P.M. will
have an extensive exhibit located
near the headquarters building.
Anyone from the area visiting the
'77 I.P.M. is encouraged to call at
the Huron Exhibit.
Plans for the 1978 International
plowing match and farm
machinery demonstration on the
Jim Armstrong and surrounding
farms near Wingham, September
26-30, 1978, are progressing on
schedule,
