Staff photo Attendance at conventions is under county scrutiny Bill • Clifford chairman of the planning board for Huron County Council, told council members Friday in Goderich his com- mittee believes the executive committee should review the policy of county personnel at- tending conferences outside the province of Ontario, for the purpose of clarification and the establishment of firm guidelines. The planning department has authorized Roman Dzus of the county planning department to attend the Canadian Conference on Public Participation which is to be held in connection with the University of Alberta in Banff. Also for the September session is the position paper of the Association of Counties and Regions of Ontario (ACRO) on the report of the commission on the reform of property taxation. Each county council will have a copy of this position paper for study from now until the Sep- tember meeting when it will be discussed. Warden Doug McNeil and the clerk -treasurer Bill Hanly were authorized to draw up and sign a suitable contract with Kim Ainslie, public management consultant, from Goderich to investigate and make recom- mendations on the organization, functions and financing of health services in Huron County. Rev. Homer Weatherbee assisted Huronview's Chaplain, Rev. W. H,. McWhinnie, with the Sunday morning chapel service. Nelson Lear and Cecil Skinner sang a duet, accompanied by Elsie Henderson. Jennie McGratton was honoured by her family at a birthday party in the auditorium Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Lyle Storey of Seaforth arranged and introduced the program for family night. The Junior Cross County Squares danced two changes. They in- clude eight boys and girls, ranging in age from five to eight. Marie Flynn, Nelson Howe and Harold Black accompanied the dancers and singers. There were vocal numbers by Marie Flynn, Donna Mcllwain, Debbie and Dawn Flynn. Mrs: Alice Leybourne thanked the en- tertainers on behalf of residents. Twenty residents attended a matinee of "See How They Run" at the Huron Country Playhouse, Grand Bend, on Wednesday. The residents enjoyed piano music in three different areas of the building on Thursday af- ternoon, played by Ed Stiles, Jake Roorda and Ethel Hill.
