Others show slight declines over 1976. Registration for Zurich elementary school is 178 — up 10 from last year. So far, 21 children have been registered for kin- dergarten. There is one new staff member, Mrs.LenoreLatulippe of Exeter will be teaching grades one and two. This is 10 or 12 less than last year. There will only be nine children in kindergarten; whereas there were 27 in 1976. The school will have a new grade seven and eight teacher — Terry Wilhelm, formerly -of North Bay. Hensall Public Schjool also experienced a drop in registration. About 160 students are expected this year. That is nine less -than last year. No staff changes are planned. Mrs. Lilian Laporte, principal of Ecole Ste. Marie on highway 21, said enrolment there was down a little. About 79 pupils will attend. Four kindergarten students will go to St. Bonfiace School, Zurich. There are no staff changes. Harold Hartle, principal of the Grand Bend elementary school also said enrolment had dropped slightly. He expects about 150 pupils. Kindergarten registration has dropped from 14 last year to nine this year. One new teacher is joining the staff — Mrs. Mireille Heinhuis, who will teach French. It was not possible to reach the principal of Huron Centennial public school before we went to press. Last year about 575 children attended. Zurich public school will open at the regular hour Tuesday, September 6, but will close one hour earlier, at 2:30 p.m., that first, day.
