Staff photo Record crowds at Playhouse The Huron County Playhouse production of `George Washington Slept Here' which starred film actor John Carradine, played to sell-out crowds during last week. The show broke all previous Playhouse records, playing to over 3,000 people during its 1 - week run. This week's play is 'See How They Run' one of the worlds best known and most popular farces. Constable Don Mason in- vestigated. The same day a vehicle driven by Keith Rader, RR 3, Zurich left Concession 4-5 in Stephen township and rolled over in the ditch. Constable Bill Lewis set damages at $2,300. No injuries were sustained. Investigations into five recent breakins at industries at Huron Industrial Park have been completed and charges have been laid in each instance. The investigating officer was Constable Mclntrye. 1950, it involves a Russian spy, and an American soldier who dis- guise themselves as English clergymen. Mary Charlotte Wilcox and Tom Butler take lead roles. Miss Wilcox returns to the Playhouse after two years work in England. She appeared at the Playhouse in 1974 as Terry Randall, the brave young actress in `Stage Door'. Tom Butler has appeared at Theatre New Brunswick and the St. Lawrence Centre. The cast also includes Stanley Coles, last seen at the Playhouse as Jack Chesney in 'Charley's Aunt', Joan Hanna and Jay MacDonald. James Murphy directs with sets designed by Alistair MacRae. The show plays Tuesday - Saturday evenings at 8:30 with Wednesday and Saturday matinees at 2:3Q. The Playhouse is presenting Toronto's Aladdin Theatre Com- pany for two performances of 'Jack and the Beanstalk', Satur- day, August 20 at 10:30 a.m. and Sunday, August 21 at 1:30 p.rn. Admission $1.25 and $2.50.
