make donation
to Alpha Huron
Alpha Huron received $118.00
from the ladies of Cromarty
Presbyterian Church. The money
was collected at their annual
fellowship meeting. Members of
various local churches were pre-
sent and Elaine Townshend
spoke on behalf of Alpha.
Alpha will meet next at the
home of Ralph and Pat Watson
on Tuesday, August 23 at 8 p.m.
It will be a barbecue. Everyone
is welcome.

Home Economists
named for Huron
Bea McClenaghan and Grace
Bird have been appointed as ho-
me economists for Huron County.
Bea McClenaghan, a
native of Southwestern Ontario,
received her formal home
economics training at the
University of Manitoba. Since
1973, she has been employed by
the Ontario Ministry of
Agriculture and Food as the
county home economist for On-
tario and York Counties.
Grace Bird began her duties as
Home Economist for Huron
County on August 8th, 1977.
Grace is a 1977 graduate from
Family and Consumer Studies at
the University of Guelph. Her
major while there was Family
Studies.
Grace comes from a dairy
farm in Halton County near
Georgetown where she has been
very involved in both 4-H
homemaking and agricultural
club work.
PLAN PIE BOOTH
Plans were made for a pie
booth and quilt raffle at the Bean
Festival by the St. Boniface
Council of the Catholic Women's
League at their August meeting.
The group is also making plans
for celebration of its twenty-fifth
anniversary.
Marie Gelinas was winner of
the door prize at, the meeting.
Lunch was served.

and Food, R. Gordon Bennett,
announces the appointment of
Dr. S.E. Sanford as veterinary
pathologist at the Veterinary
Services Laboratory at Huron
Park, Ontario.
Petwoots
Esther Steckle returned to her
duties at University Hospital,
Cleveland, after spending part of
her holidays with her mother.
Mary Steckle also spent the
weekend at home.
Mrs. Harold Stade came home
from hospital Monday.
Mr. & Mrs. - Dave Hogg, of
Vancouver returned home after
spending a two week .vacation
with their brother and family,
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hogg, Zurich.
