Parishioners honour Monsignor Bourdeau
Monsignor Bourdeau, loved
and respected figure in the
village, on Sunday was guest of
honour at a luncheon arranged by
members of his Mission parish in
Bayfield on the lawn at the
Church of the English Martyr
(R.C.) on Louisa Street,
In 1946 Monsignor was ap-
pointed Pastor of St. Peters
Parish, St. Joseph, and of the
Mission Chapel here until 1955.
He then returned again in 1961.
For 25 years he has said mass in
the Mission Chapel. Upon his
return in 1961, Monsignor
redecorated and remodelled the
Mission Chapel in accordance
with the New Liturgy and
established a Parish Council.

Monsignor Bourdeaus now 76
years of age, was ordained as
priest at St. Peters Cathedral on
June 12, 1927..He was honoured on
the occasion of his golden jubilee
by former parishioners at St.
Peters R.('. Church, St. Joseph,
On Sunday many former'
parishioners and summer
residents attended the luncheon
and expressed their gratitude for
his leadership by presenting him
with a purse of money.
Mr. and Mrs. Bernard F
Sturgeon, Jeff and Rollie;
Orangeville, spent the holiday
weekend at their village home.
Miss Danielle Simons, Lindsay
and Mr, Richard Simons, Wind-
sor, were with their mother, Mrs.
Jan Simons for the long weekend.
Mr. Joe Beeehie, London,
joined his wife Mary Lou, and
family at their summer residence
for the weekend.
Dr. and Mrs. Bill Tillmann and
family, London, are enjoying
several days at their summer
home.
A former resident, Mrs. May
Hopson of Clinton, and her
son Oliver and members of his
fancily from Quebec, visited old
friends in the village on Satur-
day.
Several young fellows from this
area are attending Huron. Hockey
School in Huron Park. This week
Ian Siertsema, Joe Fansher,
Kevin Dunn, Steven Taylor and
Douglas Wain are pupils. Next
week Brian Fisher, David
Stevens, Robert Boyes and John
Bayfield

Wooden will receive some expert
instruction.
Mrs. Nina Haw, is taking a few
weeks off.In the meantime,

Mr. and Mrs. Bill Parker.
accompanied their niece and
husband, Mr. and Mrs. Ed
Rowse, and Dale of London on a
week-long camping trip to
Wiarton, Collingwood and
Everett,
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Parker
and David of Dorchester, visited
Sunday with his parents, Mr, and
Mrs. Bill Parker.
Mrs Laura Clemens and Mrs.
Myrtle Weatherby, both of
Langley Prairie, British
Columbia, are visiting their
brother and sister-in-law, Mr.
and Mrs. R.J. Larson.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Rowse, Cathy,
Jill and Dale of London were the
weekend guests of Mrs. Rowses'
mother, Mrs, L.B. Smith.

during a pensive moment while the Bayfield parade
judges did their stuff. Gerry and Andy Rogers, Ot-
tawa, won first prize miscellaneous category for their
creative float.
