This year it was a two-day event with the parade on Friday evening, led by the Ipperwash Cadet Band. In the agricultural grounds were rides for the children, games of chance, turtle races and the ever popular hot dog stand. A share -the -wealth bingo was in full swing inside the arena. At 11 pm draws were made for the money prizes offered by the Lions Club, Lucky winners were Harold Erb, Bayfield, who received $200; Glen McNeil, Goderich; George Willits, Bayfield; Bob McKee, Zurich; HEAD CHINESE DELEGATION -The Chinese float entered in Saturday's Friedsburg Days .parade was headed by Christine and Jennifer Bartliff and Julia Tiernan. On Saturday afternoon, the agricultural grounds was busy again with ball games, rides, games of chance and the food booth was operating. Inside the arena a hospitality booth and fish fry were in progress. There was talk of this meal becoming an annual event. It was enjoyed by about 500 people. On hand both nights to en- tertain, was the Bayfield Lions Goodtime Band. The group had also toured the trailer camps surrounding the village prior to the carnival. Band members are Bernie Fansher on banjo; Rose Taman, piano; Ken Knights, bass; Bill Scotchmer, guitar; and vocal Steve Argyle, guitar and harmonica. Milvena Erickson, spoons and tambourine. They were assisted by the reeve of Bayfield, Ed Oddleifson on saxophone; Elmer Trick on piano; Albert Craig, guitar and vocal ; Helen Craig tam- bourine; and little Jimmy, guitar and vocal and Murray Matheson, piano. Eric Earl sang. Judges for the parade were Alan and Marianne Yates, Armand Manness, Warren Cook, Carol Fisher, Mrs. Dora War- wick, Kate McAlister and Mrs. Mary Maxness. Winners in costumes were Mary Haggarty, Dawn Merner, Ann Haw Winners in costume were Mary Haggarty, Dawn Merner, Ann Haw and Julie Dundas; children (pedestrian) ; Coleen Hamilton and Kevin D.unn; decorated bicycles, Sue Wackhaus and Tracey Pitblado, Leigh Ann Taman, Ian Siertsema, David Rouse, decorated tricycles Ray Ann Scotchmer, Bobby Fisher, Dwayne Siertsema; miscellaneous carts, Gerry Smith and Jenny Triebner. Winners in the float category were Homestead Cap, Clinton Lions Club, Knox Presbyterian Church and Bayfield Babes ball team. Special entry winners were Kurt and Bryan Wackhaus, Sue Lane and Ann Laudenback, Ian Hennesy and Jamie Smith. Horse with rig winners were Tom, Penhale, Bayfield; Albert Erb, Zurich; and Bud Robinson, Bayfield; Horse riders were Judy Huntley, Lynn Hudson, Betty Kaptein, pony riders, Brian Johnston, Janet Kaptein, .and Dennis Merner.
