We welcome those who visit here, as well as all others who take time to visit with residents. On Monday evening a number of residents took advantage of the opportunity to attend the Grand Bend Playhouse, where dress rehearsal for Plaza Suite was being staged. The regular monthly birthday party was held on Tuesday evening, sponsored by the U.C.W. of Zurich United Church. A miscellaneous programme of short skits, piano solos, accordion solos and a sing -:along was en- joyed. Residents having bir- thdays during the month of July are Mrs, Gertrude Gittus and Roy MacDonald., Gifts courtesy of the Ladies Auxiliary, were Goderich seniors entertain Huronview residents The Goderich Senior Citizens Club visited Huronview Friday and entertained with songs by Wanda Linner, violin selections by Bert McDonald, coloured slides by Bob Henry, recitations by Mrs. Roy Finnegan and Mary Clairmont. The final day of the Senior Citizens Week of activities in- cluded an afternoon of table games sponsored by the Seaforth Seniors. Prize winners for the highest euchre scores were Pearl Gidley and Louis Wild. The eldest resident playing cards was Mrs. Elizabeth Scott. The Brussels United Church Women entertained on Monday afternoon with a variety program. There were vocal solos and quartette numbers, step dancing and square dancing. Following the program bags of treats were given to each of the residents. The Goderich Laketown Band played for a concert on the lawn on Family Night. The thirty - member band is led by Miss Storey with musicians from Goderich, Clinton, Holmesville and Bayfield. The Bob Heywood Orchestra of Exeter entertained Tuesday evening with a program of favourite songs. The orchestra includes Bob Heywood, ac- cordion, Calvin Horner, guitar, and Jeff Rooth, drums. The programs outdoors provide an opportunity for all of the residents to hear the music from the west windows of the Home or } from the chairs on the lawn, pitedges in The Zurich Roll-A-Thon has been over for quite a while, but believe it or not all the pledges have not been turned in ac- cording to arena manager Jerry Rader. So far $1391.20 worth of pledges have been collected, up from last year, but there is another $123.45 to be collected. Mike Haggitt won the.$100 bill for raising the most money as he turned in $187.70. Steve Grainger was runner-up with $145 worth of pledges. Steve won a free pass to roller skating for one year. Teresa Deitrich was the Lucky Drawwinner,taking home $25 for entering. The money raised will be used for recreation equipment and all 72 skaters can be proud of the effort they put forward. Residents out visiting with relatives and friends during the past week were Mrs. Mabel Gossman, Roy MacDonald, Miss Marie Gelinas, Dolph Sopha, Miss Milverna Geiger, Mrs. Anne Oligny, Mrs. Mary Sturley, Miss Cecil McLeod, Mrs. Ellen Thiel, Mrs. Viola Unruh, Mrs. Jennetta Finnigan, Mrs. Alma Southcott, Miss Susan Hartman, Mrs. Alice Thompson and Scott Chandler. ' 'Bingo, played on Thursday evening, was followed by refresh- ments. We are pleased that Mrs. Emma Bennewies was able to return from South Huron Hospital. The Sunday evening chapel service was conducted by Rev, Wm. Bennett of Bayfield Anglican Church. Miss Jackie Johnston played the organ.
