Carl Payne attended the 80th
Anniversary of the Women's
Institute at a luncheon held in
Bingeman Park Kitchener, on
Wednesday,. July 13. Guest
speaker was Mrs. A. Hackett -
Pain, Honourary-Treasurer of
the Associated Country Women of
the World.
Mrs. Edith Kitely and Debbie
from Maxville, Mrs. Elizabeth
Karadiss of California, Mrs.
Margaret Hamilton of Exeter
and Mr: & Mrs. Ed. Catchpole
and boys of Arkona visited with
Mr. & Mrs. Bev Hamilton, Diane
and Gordon over the weekend.
United Church service was held
in St. Paul's Anglican Church
Sunday when members of Car-
mel Presbyterian Church and
Hensall United Church members
united for service conducted by
Rev. Gerorge Anderson, who
delivered an inspiring message.
Mrs. Frank Forrest presided at
the organ. Service will be held in
St. Paul's Church next Sunday at
9.45 a.m.
The IOOFand Rebekah Lodges
are holding their annual picnic at
the home of Mr. & Mrs. Ernie
Chipchase Sunday July 17. All
members and their families are
invited, bring your picnic basket,
and enjoy an afternoon at the
beach.
30th Pepper
Reunion
The 30th annual Pepper
reunion was held recently in
Lions Park at Seaforth with 37
present.
Sports under the leadership of
Mr. & Mrs. Cecil Pepper and girls
were conducted. They were:
Guessing the contents of a can
(rice pudding) Mrs. Cliff Pepper;
guessing number of jelly beans in
a jar, Mrs. Ella Tinney; woman
with most number of things in her
purse, Mrs. Ross Gordon; toss
the balloon filled with water, Cliff
and Laura Pepper; getting
dressed contest, mens team won;
mens elimination race,. Frank
Falconer ;Ionges t married couple,
Mr. & Mrs. Austin Matheson;
youngest child, Tara, daughter of
Mr. & Mrs. Albert Pepper; lucky
spot, Austin Matheson.
After a delicious supper, the
President Alex Pepper conducted
a short meeting when the election
of officers was held. They are:
President, Alex Pepper;
secretary -treasurer, Mrs. Austin
Matheson; table committee, Mr.
& Mrs. Ross Gordon and Mr. &
Mrs. Frank Falconer; Sports
committee, Cecil Pepper and
family.
As not too many people are
attending this picnic, con-
siderable time was spent in
trying to get ideas for a better
crowd next year. •
It was moved that the picnic for
next year be held in Lions Park,
Seaforth on the fourth Sunday in
June.

Reunion
The Oesch-Pfaff reunion was
held at Hensall Community Park
on Sunday with approximately
fifty to• sixty guests attending.
Races and games were held for
the children including ball
throwing, candy scramble and
peanut scramble etc. and all the
children received a little prize at
the end. To complete the evening,
a delicious picnic supper was
enjoyed by all.
Livestock sa les
At the Hensall Livestock Sales
last Thursday, the px`ices were
steady on an active market, The
supply consisted mainly of
heifers and steers. Fat cattle;
heifers, $37.50-$39.00, top to
$41.75. Steers, $41.50-$43.50, top to
$44.75. Pigs; weanlings $32.50-
$37.50, chunks $39.50-$45.00.

Seniors travel
A pleasant evening was en-
joyed by twenty-fiveof the Three
Links Senior Citizens Club and
friends last Wednesday evening,
July 7 when they attended the
Blyth Summer Festival and
watched the play "The Blood is
Strong". Even the weather co-
operated as the storms which had
been threatening all day cleared
away .by trip time.

Stanley twp. picnic
at Stanley Park beach
The regular meeting of the
Stanley Township Recreation
Committee was held Tuesday,
June 28 with seven members
present.
Final plans were made for the
township picnic. Everyone is
welcome to attend Sunday, July
24, 1977 at 4:00 p.m. at Stanley
Park. Please bring your own
picnic basket for supper at 5 p.m.
and enjoy a fun afternoon with
friends and neighbours.
Don Bell Construction of
Clinton has begun work on a 28' x
14' building for washrooms and
equipment storage at the ball
park. Tuckey Beverages, Exeter
are donating a scoreboard and
hope to have it erected beside the
diamond in the near future.
The committee is going to put
up parking signs at the ball park.
Cars stopping on the driveway
have been preventing other cars
from leaving during games.
Tentative plans were made for
a corn roast during August but
more particulars will follow after
next months meeting.
