Something for everyone
1 13th annual fair takes place next week
For the second year the Zurich
Fair will be held in July rather
than September, rand fair
organizers are hopeful this year's
attendance will be the highest
yet.
Fair organizers are basing this
hope on the fact they have done
more advertising this year than
last. They have distributed 300
posters around the countryside
and entered floats advertising the
113th annual fair in the Goderich,
Clinton and Hensall parades.
Last year's attendance was
double the previous year.
This year's festivities begin
Friday night in the Community
Centre with Big Al and a talent
show plus the crowning of the
Fair Queen. The talent show is
made up of youngsters from near
and far and promises to be pure
delight while the Fair Queen
contestants are, as usual,
beautiful. There is still time for
anyone interested to enter the
Queen contest, sponsors will be
provided.
Saturday the excitement
begins with a parade at 12:30
p.m. which features the
Carlsberg 1976 Champion Team
and Wagon. The wagon is built
entirely from solid oak and
decorated by Canadian wood
carvers.The entire box of the
wagon has been hand -rubbed and
polished and its natural finish is
enhanced with 15 coats of var-
nish. The Carlsberg Team is
composed of eight beautiful
Championship Belgian show
horses.
Miss C:N.E.will be in the
parade as well as the Antique
Hask Car Club, the Arkona Pig
Team, the Haflingers horse team
sponsored by John Deere of
Canada, the Goderich LakeTown

shaping into a large one with
heavy and light horses, ponies,
and jumping horses. At 1:45 the
judging of cattle will begin to the
side of the horse show with the 4-
1-1 club events taking top billing.

same time.
