Three Links Seniors
The Three Links Senior
Citizens group of Hensall met in
the Local Hall, Tuesday evening
with the president Percy
Campbell presiding and opened
by singing "0 Canada" with
Dorothy Mickle accompanying
at the piano. Mrs. Irene
Finlayson was secretary in the
absence of Mrs. Grace Peck.
Mrs. Rosa Harris stated the
program was arranged for the
visit to Huronview June 22, Mrs.
Dick Taylor reported some seats
were available on the bus going
to Toronto June 27 with the
Institute, leaving at 8 a.m. from
the Legion Hall.
Arrangements were made to
attend a play "The Blood Is
Strong" at the Summer Festival
at Blyth July 7. Mrs. Thos.
Brintnell was appointed to
secure tickets and make final
arrangements for members to
attend. Members of the ex-
ecutive reported articles
purchased. Mrs, Dick Taylor
reported the purchase of a
refrigerator. Mrs. Wm. Roger-
son reported the purchase of a
sewing machine. Mrs. Rosa
Harris reported the purchase of
tumblers and Mrs. Irene
Finlayson reported on an inquiry
about quilting frames.
The president Percy Campbell
stated the shuffle board was un-
der construction and ready for
the cement work. A nominating
committee namely Bertha
MacGregor, Elizabeth Riley and
Elsie Carlile were appointed to
bring the slate of officers to the
September meeting, which will
be a "Pot Luck" Supper with the
executive in charge of entertain-
ment.
Progressive euchre was played
with the following prize winners,
ladies' high, Ruby Bell; ladies'
consolation, Madeline Harburn;
gent's high, Percy Campbell;
gent's low, Carl Payne; lone
hands, Bill Fairbairn; lucky cup,
Dorothy Brintnell.
Refreshments were served by
the social and entertainment
committees namely Pearl
Koehler, Elsie Carlile, Annie
Reid, Dorothy Mickle, Pearl
Shaddick, Alice Ferg.
NOVELTY CLASS WINNER — Gerry Smith of Exeter won the Novelty
class Ontario Fiddling Championship with a routine which included
everything from fiddling behind his back to on top of his head. His
daughter Linda attempts to follow the fiddle with the microphone
while her father performs at the Hensall Fiddling Competitions last

Guenther also doubled in the
fourth and singled in the seventh.
The other Tiger with three hits
was Jim Dietrich with a triple
and two singles.
The other big blast for the
Tigers was a third inning home
run delivered by Kevin Bestard
with two aboard. Bestard also
collected a single.
Tigers getting two hits apiece
were John Hayter, Dave Par-
sons, Rick Schilbe, Joe O'Rourke
and Bob Hoffman. Single hits
were picked up by Doug Mclsaac,
Doug Fairbairn and Rob Dickey.
Stover Wins
Against Thorndale, Perry
Stover went the nine inning
distance on the mound for the
Tigers and allowed only one
earned run.
Stover while giving up eight
hits was stingy in the clutches
and recorded 10 strikeouts. He
walked only one batter in
exhibiting excellent control.
The Dashwood batting attack
with 14 hits was well spread
around with hits in every inning
but the fifth.
Dave Parsons, Kevin Bestard
and Perry Stover led the Tigers
at the plate with two hits apiece.
Getting one hit each were Bob
'Hoffman, Glenn Thurman, Jim
Dietrich, Doug Fairbairn, Terry
O'Rourke, Jim Hoffman, Rob
Dickey and Webster.
