scored on a wild pitch. Zurich
scored their final run in the sixth
as Rick Schilbe singled. Moved to
third on a wild pitch, and finally
scored on another wild pitch.
Union added single runs in the
fifth and sixth for a final 6-3
victory for Otterville.
Isidore Laporte started the
game, but was relieved by Brian
Hodgin s in the second inning,
who again pitched very strong
for Zurich. The total s were
Otterville 6 runs, 10 hits, 1 error;
Zurich 3 runs, 4 hits, 3 errors.
Zurich's four hits were by Rick
Schilbe, Rick Fisher, and two by
Dereck O'Brien. In . both games
Zurich was faced to bat against
left hand pitching.
The next tournament for the
Buckeye s will be July 15,16,17 in
Thamesford.

Tigers win two games
The bats of the Dashwood
Tigers were booming this week
as they scored two decisive
victories in Huron -Perth in-
termediate baseball league
action.
Friday on their home field, the
Tigers downed the Thorndale
Angels by a score of 13-3 and
Monday night in Crediton, the
score was 22-2 over the Crediton
Mets.
The Tigers will be in action in
two crucial contests this week.
Both are against the strong
Clinton Colts and both will be at
the Dashwood Athletic field.
The first game of the two game
set goes Friday night at 8 p.m.
with the second scheduled for
Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.
In chalking up Monday's 22-2
romp over Crediton, the Tigers
scored in every inning but the
fifth.
Crediton's only two runs came
in the first inning. Keith .Davey
walked to open the Crediton first
and with one out came in to score
on a home run from the bat of
Bruce Hodge.
The only other Crediton hit off
the offerings of Dashwood hurler
Jim Guenther was a single by
Paul Truemner in the sixth
inning.
Over the seven inning route,
Guenther threw only 89 pitches
and recorded 11 strikeouts.
The Tigers bombarded two
Crediton pitchers for 21 hits.
Larry Clarke started and was
relieved by Jim Pfaff in the third.
Pfaff went the rest of the way.
Jim Guenther also led his team
at the plate with three hits in-
cluding a first inning home run
with Rick Schilbe who had
singled on the bases.

Hundreds gather to see
Fiddlers compete in Hensall
Donald Reed of Sudbury is the
new Ontario Champion Fiddler.
Mr. Reed won the title Saturday
night at the Hensall Fiddling
competitions.
Eleanor Townsend of Toronto
placed second in the Open class
while last years champion Ed
Gyurki of Woodstock placed
third.
