BLUE WATER REST HOME
Golden Glimpses
a.
Another one of those
changeable weeks, one day hot,
the next one cool. However,
variety is supposed to be the
spice of life.
Meals on wheels has been
operating from the Home for the
past three weeks. If you are
unable to prepare your meals
please contact the co-ordinator
Mrs. Tanya Erb and she will
arrange to have meals delivered
to you for a nominal fee. Meals
are prepared every Tuesday and
Thursday.
We welcome Mr. Rudolph
Stade as a new resident and we
hope all of his friends will visit
him here.
Residents who were out visiting
during the week were Mrs. Nellie
Cleave, Mrs. Anne Oligny, Mr.
Roy MacDonald, Mrs. Mabel
Gossman, Mrs. Mary Sturley and
Mrs. Alma Southcott. Yesterday
being Father's Day brought
families out to visit Dad,.
On Wednesday afternoon the
bus went out with as many
residents as it could ac-
commodate for a view of the
countryside. The residents enjoy
being able to get out and see for
themselves just how much
progress the crops are making.
The residents are working hard
in the hobby shop these days and
it didn't take their experienced
fingers long to finish quilting a
large quilt.
On Thursday morning we were
pleased to have Mr. Lawrence
Wein join the residents in the
dining -room for an hour of
singing. Mr. Wein will be
vacationing for the remainder of
the summer but we hope to be
able to welcome him back in the
fall.
The Sunday evening chapel
service was conducted by Rev.
Andrew Blackwell of St. Pater's
Lutheran Church, Zurich. Mr.
Douglas Klopp presided at the
organ during the service.

It will likely be the middle of July before the Zurich Senior Citizen rent -geared -to -income housing unit is
occupied, according to village clerk Betty Oke.
The problem seems to be the amount of red tape involved with actually opening the building to
residents. Both the province and the county must inspect the building before any one is allowed to take up
residency.
The building had originally been scheduled to open earlier this spring, but the official opening date is
still in question.
