Everyone welcome, from those starting Kindergarten in
public school this coming September to Grade 10.
The Herald Press curriculum will be used which emphasizes
Bible Study and the lessons centered around a scripture
passage for each day.
Parents should Pre -register the Kindergarten 1 children —
that is those children who were born in 1972 by calling Janny
Zandwyk 565-5207 or Elaine Love 236-4033 to give the
father's name and child's birthday by the lst of July.
There is no admission fee. There will be a bus route similar
to the one last year.

Mrs. Judy Layton, Joanne and
Sheryl visited Sunday with Mrs.
Elliott Layton of Brucefield, who
is a patient in St. Joseph's
Hospital in London.
Mrs. Milvena Erickson visited
Tuesday with her sister Mrs.
Norma Stewart, RR 2 Ripley and
was accompanied home by her
niece Miss Bonnie Lu Stewart
who will remain for the summer
with her aunt and family.
Mr. & Mrs. Albert Craig, Mrs.
Judy Layton, Joanne and Sheryl
attended a family dinner at the
Legion Hall in Lucan on Sunday
to honour Albert's father, Mr. Ed
Craig on Fathers Day.
Mrs. Ruth Robinson,
Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, a
niece of Mrs. Jeanne Bennett was
a guest during the weekend at the
Rectory with Rev. William M.and
Mrs. Bennett. The Bennett's
daughter Sally of Strathroy also
spent some time during the
weekend with her parents.
Mrs. W. Earl, London and Mrs.
A. Lawton of Peking, China
visited last week with their son
and brother Mr. Eric Earl and his
wife Evelene. The Earl's also
have as their guest theirgrand-
daughter, Miss Kim Quigg of
London. _
Mr. & Mrs. Norman Talbot
attended the funeral of Mr.
Talbot's uncle, Mr. Thomas
Workman in Woodstock on
Saturday June 11. Mr. Talbot
acted as a pallbearer for his late
uncle.
Mrs. G. Woodworth of Kitchener
was a weekend guest at the
elegant Old Albion Hotel on

Best wishes to little Miss Cari
Lynn Talbot, daughter of Les and
Bonnie Talbot, who is presently a
patient in Sick Childrens Hospital
London. Get well soon Cari Lynn,
Mr. & Mrs. Don Dinel, Tracey
and Erin, London visited for the
weekend with her Mother Mrs.
Maude Weston.
Mr. & Mrs. Matt Medinger had
their son and daughter-in-law of
Toronto as their weekend guests.
Mrs. Berthena Hammond
attended the First Communion of
her nephew Dennis Florian in St.
Joseph's Roman Catholic Church
in Clinton on Sunday. She
remained for a few days with her
brother-in-law and sister Mr. &
Mrs. Ed Florian and Dennis.
Miss Lori McNutt Zurich was a
guest of Miss Jayne Sturgeon for
the weekend.
Mr. & Mrs. Norman Talbot
were in Windfall on Sunday and
attended the Workman Family
picnic.
Swimming classes
Once again, the Bayfield Lions
Club are sponsoring a bus to
transport children to swimming
classes. The classes run from
July 4 to 15 and will be in the
afternoon, leaving Bayfield at
12;30 p.m. If you are interested in
taking swimming lessons you can
register at the Town Hall Friday
evening June 24, from 7 to 9 p.m.
or on Saturday morning from
10:30 to 12.
Lioness Bake Sale
The Lioness Club. reported a
successful Bake Sale held
Saturday morning at the Old
Homestead Trailer Park. The
girls said the sale was well
supported with all the goodies
sold in twenty minutes realizing a
total of $90.00.
Lioness members Wynn
Graham and Carolyn Snell said
they will be making a canvassof
the business establishments in
the village for their annual Penny
Sale, July 30. They also said that
if any individual wishes to donate
they would be more than
welcome to do so.
All proceeds are for the Arena
Fund.
Ladies Guild
Trinity Church Ladies Guild
were the guests Tuesday af-
ternoon, June 14, of Mrs. Ruth
Mutzelburg at her very beautiful
lakeside home for a sumptuous
and bountiful pot -luck supper.
Following a most enjoyable
meal together Guild members
held their regular meeting
presided over by the president
Mrs. Vera Turner.
The Guild set Saturday mor-
ning August 6 at 11:00 a.m. for
their bake sale in the Parish Hall.
Vina Parker will be the hostess
for the next regular meeting
when they meet again in Sep-
tember,
Talent Day
Several Mothers attended
Talent Day at Huron Centennial
School, Brucefield on Monday
and Tuesday last last. Monday
they watched the Kindergarten
children and grades one and two
perform. On Tuesday it was a
program of the Grade 3 and 4
youngsters. The little people put
on a very much enjoyed per-
formance with a big thank you to
the teachers who had the
patience and took the time to
instruct the children.
Bayfield Council
Bayfield Council met in regular
session Monday evening and
accepted a plan presented by the
Senior Citizens president Harry
Baker on the repairs and
refurbishing of the Old Town
Hall.
The plan was subject to
receiving a grant to cover all
costs from the New Horizons.
Council also received a com-
plaint from Mr. G. Beakhust
regarding derelict cars etc. to
the north of lots 551-581-582.
Correspondence was also read
from Mr. Letinour stating he
would meet council on Tuesday,
July 5 to discuss the assessment
factor; received the three year
lease renewal to operate the
Village Marina on the South side
of the Bayfield River and em-
powered the clerk and the Reeve
to sign an agreement with Miss
Ilene Hession regarding her Fair
Acres subdivison; heard a letter
read from Miss Kathleen Reid,
secretary of the Historical
Society urging a meeting of the
Bayfield Architectural Con-
servancy Advisory Committee
(BACAC) as soon as possible.
In other business council
learned that consideration is
being given to the formation of a
Fire Area Board and discussed
the finding of a steering com-
mittee which is planning a fur-
ther meeting.
The Reeve announced that the
official opening of the New
Library under construction will
take place on August 6.
Council decided to write a
letter to a business establishment
asking them to remove certain
items from the Village right
away as they are creating a
hazard and a parking problem.
Bayfield Babes
The girls ball team, the
Bayfield Babes are on a winning
streak, Thursday night last they
played the Bluewater girls and
solidly trounced them 67 to 12.
Sunday afternoon they beat Paul
Bunyan by a 29-17 score and
Sunday night the Babes won over
the Bluewater Girls 21-15. Eight
teams compete in the girls ball
team.
