By JOYCE DOWSON
A large number of Varna and
Goshen United Church members
met at Stanley Township Park for
a church service and picnic on
Sunday, June 19. The weather
was beautiful and the lake
location added inspiration to the
service, which was conducted by
Rev. Taylor.
Julie and Jill Armstrong sang
duets, and Julie played the guitar
and accompanied the hymns
"Amazing Grace" and "He's Got
the Whole World in His Hands".
Ron Fleming also sang and
played 'guitar and was much
enjoyedby all.
After the service, a picnic
lunch' was served. A program of
races for the children was held
with the following winners: 4 and
under, David Hayter; 5 and 6,
Shelley Hayter, Greg Taylor,
Scott Kirton; 7 to 9, Tracey
Hayter, Becky McKinley, Lorelie
Robinson and Lori Consitt; 9 to
0110

Laura Roy; 12 and up, Bonnie
Dowson, Brenda Dowson,
