Citizens News, June 22, 1977 Page 5 St. Peters Lutheran Church women The monthly meeting of St, Peter's Lutheran Church Women, was held on Tuesday, June 14. Mrs, Marge Schilbe, Mrs. Annie Finkbeiner and Mrs. Iva Datars were in charge of the meeting. After opening devotions a short business meeting was held, chaired by the President Mrs. Lenora Turkheim. Mrs. Marge Schilbe, introduced the special guest for the evening Mr. & Mrs. Paul Turnbull, Grand Bend. Mr. & Mrs. Turnbull and their two children spent four months in Guatemala following the recent earthquake there. They went as volunteers, along with other couples from Ontario, travelling by Motor Home to Guatemala. While there they helped to rebuild homes and churches that had been ruined by the earthquake. They showed slides and gave an interesting account of their stay there. They also displayed some souvenirs that they had collected while there. Mrs. Lenora Turkheim thanked Mr. & Mrs. Turnbull for a delightful and informative evening and Mrs. Marge Schilbe presented them with a potted hanging plant as a token of their appreciation. A social hour followed during which time members had a chance to visit with Mr. & Mrs. Turnbull and hear of their many experiences while there.
