Joan and Paul Dodds visited
over the weekend with their
grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Sim
Roobol while their parents Mr. &
Mrs. Don Dodds attended the 20th
reunion of Don's attendance at
Guelph University.
Mrs. Walter Spencer is a
patient in St. Joseph's Hospital,
London.
Sim Roobal was taken to South
Huron Hospital, Exeter, on
Sunday and later transferred to
St. Joseph's Hospital, London.
Mr. & Mrs. Orby Kestle of
Florida visited with Mr. Wilbur
Dilling at the weekend and with
Mrs. Wilbur Dilling in the
Queensway Nursing home.
Mr, & Mrs. Howard Rannie and
family of Sarnia visited with the
former's mother, Mrs. Sam
Rannie on Sunday. Mrs. Art
Warner of Kitchener visited with
her mother, Mrs. Rennie on
Tuesday.
Mrs. Brian Collins, Sarah and
Jeff, Kitchener, spent Thursday
with her mother Mrs. Laird
Mickle.
Mrs. Grace Peck is a patient in
St. Joseph's Hospital, London.
Mr. & Mrs. Ross McMillan,
Tom and Ann, Waterloo, spent
Saturday evening with Mrs.
McMillan's mother, Mrs. Laird
Mickle.
Mr. & Mrs. Alf Smith
celebrated their 40th wedding
anniversary on Sunday, June 19,
at the home of their daughter
Marilyn, Mr. & Mrs. Glen Tedball
of RR 3, Thedford. Attending
were their family, Mr. & Mrs. Pat
Flannery, London, Mrs. Elsie
McKellar, Thedford, Mr. & Mrs.
George Smith, London, Mr. &
Mrs. Glen Tedball, Thedford, Mr.
& Mrs. Dick Tipping, Dorchester;
sixteen grandchildren and one
great-grandchild. Friends who
attended were Mr. & Mrs. Bill
Hughston, Ingersoll, Mrs. Tony
Bodnar, Thedford and Mr.
Donald McDonald. Gifts` and
flowers were received from
friends and the family.
Lodge presents "Travelling
Gavel"
Noble Grand Mrs. Dorothy
Parker presided at the regular
meeting of Amber Rebekah
Lodge on Wednesday evening,
assisted by the Vice Grand Mrs.
Maggie Campbell. Thank _yous
were received from Mrs. Evelyn
MacBeath, Mrs. Ruby Belt and
Mrs. Vera Lemmon.
An invitation was accepted
from Mrs. Olga Chipchase
L.S.V.G. to arrange a Rebekah
and Oddfellow picnic at their
home, which was accepted for
July 17.
Jahn Blackwell
John D. • Blackwell, son of
David C. B. Blackwell and the
late Lillie K. Miller Blackwell,
RR2, Hensall, graduated on
Monday, June 6 at the 22nd
Convocation of the University of
Western Ontario with a Bachelor
of Arts degree in Honours
History.
During the past four years John
has been registered at Huron
College where he has been
consistently on the Dean's
Honours List,
Mrs, Maggie Campbell
reported for Qthe visiting com-
mit tee .
om-mittee. The members of
Goderich Rebekah Lodge were
guests and presented the Noble
Grand, Mrs. Dorothy Parker
with the "Travelling Gavel" and
a bouquet of carnations. Mrs.
Grace Fuller, Noble Grand of
Goderich expressed greetings.
Happy Birthday was sung to
several sisters.
At the close of the meeting,
Mrs. Isobel Rogerson favoured
with piano selections, after
which bingo and euchre was
played. Three draws were made
following the euchre and were
won by Alice Masse, Wreatha
Gregg and Ruby Bell. A social
hour concluded the evening.
UCW meet following quilting
The UCW of Chiselhurst
Church held their June meeting
Tuesday following a morning of
quilting. President Mrs. Dorothy
Parker presided and opened the
meeting with a poem "The
Weaver" followed by the theme
song and prayer. Mrs. Pearl
Taylor had the worship "Praise
The Lord". The roll call was
answered with your favourite
flower.
A thank you note was read
from the Hamilton Family. The
offering was received . and
dedicated. Mrs. Mary Brintnell
was in charge of the program
and read a poem "Thank You,
Lord" The treasurer gave a
report.

Mrs, Rosa Harris had,the very successful. The Roll Ca!l,
Citizenship entitled "Precious
Promises". Members were
reminded to bring articles for
the bale for Angola. The
treasurer, Mrs. Dorothy
Brintnell was given permission
to pay all accounts during the
summer months.
Huronview Auxiliary
The June meeting of the
Huronview Auxiliary was held in
the Craft Room on Monday, June
20 at 1 p.m. The meeting opened
by all repeating the Lord's
Prayer. In the absence of the
secretary, Mrs. Aiine McNichol,
the minutes of the last meeting
were read by Mrs: Betty Scratch.
The treasurer, Mrs. L. Lockhart
gave the report of the Bazaar and
Bake Sale, both of which were
"Where 1 would like to go on a
trip" was answered by 17
members. The members were
asked to start and prepare ar-
ticles for the Bazaar in the Fall.
The next meeting will be held
on July 18 at 1.30 p.m ,. Mrs. Luella
MacDonald adjourned the
meeting so that all could go to the
Auditorium where Bayfield and
Blyth were in charge of the
program this being Senior
Citizens week.
United Church
Rey. Don Beck was back in his
pulpit to conduct the service on
Sunday, June 19, at the Hensall
United Church. His sermon was
on "Encountering Christ".
The choir lead by Mrs. John
Turkheim at the organ sang the
anthem, "Jubilarre"
