T -A photo Installation of Legion, Auxiliary Past Zone Commander Cleve Coombs, Egmondville and Mrs. Coombs were present as special guests Friday for the joint in- stallation of the Hensall Legion and Auxiliary. The installation was carried out by B1yth.Branch Number 420. Officers of the Men's Legion are as follows: President Grant McClinchey; 1st Vice President: Howard Smale; 2nd Vice Pres. Garnet Allan; Padre Rev. Black- well; Sgt. at Arms Larry Uyl; Secretary -Treasurer Edwin Varna by Mrs. Bill Chessell There was a good turnout of players for Varna's first Men's Slowpitch game on Saturday evening against the Blue Anchor team. Blue Anchor won by a 26 to 21 score. Ruby Hill led an interesting discussion on "Happiness" and how to live a happy life at the June meeting of Varna U.C.W. Worship began with the hymn "Happy the Home When God is There". Maureen Hayter led in prayer, and Helen Edythe Elliott read the poem "Peace". Scripture was Philippians 3:14. Ruby gave a commentary on the theme prior to the discussion. The members voted to send $25.00 for support of a medical student in Nepal. We are to bring sweaters to the September meeting for children in Zambia, where Dr. Theodore Tucker is working. Our members are responsible for manning the Hospital Auxiliary cart for the month of June, and we were reminded of the Visitor's Day meeting at Brucefield on Tuesday. An open air church service and picnic for Goshen and Varna congregations is planned for June 19 at Stanley Park. A reception followed the Installation. LEGION BREAK IN The Hensall Legion was broken into early Saturday morning. Entrance was gained by breaking a window. Nothing is reported to be taken.
