';Golden Glimpses
This past week has been rather
quiet. Our plants have all been
planted so now all we have to do
is hope for rain since it has been
several weeks since.we have had
a shower in this area.
On Tuesday, June 7, the
members of the Ladies Auxiliary
are reminded that the annual
picnic for the residents will
commence at 2:00 p.m., feauring
a program to be followed with a
picnic supper.
Sympathy is extended to the
family of the late Mrs. Verna
Twitchell who resided at the
Maplewoods Apartments.
We welcome Mr. & Mrs. Harry
W. Schultz formerly of RR 1,
Dashwood as new tenants in the
Maplewoods Apartments.
On Tuesday evening, June 7 at
7:00 p.m., there will be a meeting
here at the Home for all students
who are interested in the-
volunteer program being
sponsored by the Ladies
Auxiliary. If you are intersted in
this program and haven't to date
contacted Mrs. Louis Farwell
concerning this project, it would
be to your advantage to do so
before the time of the meeting.
The following residents were
out visiting during the past week.
Mrs. Alice Thompson, Mr.
Wellington Riehl, Mr. Roy
McDonald, Mrs. Mabel Gossman,
Mrs. Mary Sturley, Mrs. Paul
Cleave, Mrs. Anne Oligny and
Mrs. Jennetta Finnigan returned
from a two week visit with her
family in Barrie.
On Friday afternoon bingo was
played in the hobby shop.
The Sunday evening chapel
service was conducted by Rev.
Donald Beck of the Hensall •
United Church. Mrs. Jack
Turkheim presided at the organ
during the service and also ac-
companied the choir.
