District Annual
Mrs, Ray Rader, Mrs. Eben
Weigand, Mrs. Gordon Bender,
Mrs. Syd Baker, Mrs, Earl Keller

the District Annual for Huron
South Women's Institutes at
Grand Bend United Church,
Thursday.
Senior Citizens
Forty Senior Citizens and
guests were present for the May
meeting in the Community
Centre. During the business
session a list of projects for New
Horizon grants was presented
and approved. The group will
entertain the Huronview
residents in Senior Citizens week
June 19-25. The June meeting will
be in the form of a picnic in the
pavilion. Harry Hoffman led a
sing song.
New officers for the coming
year were elected as follows:
president, J. M. Tieman; vice-
president, Charles Martene;
secretary -treasurer, Hilda
Rader; assistant, Florence
Martene; executive, Ross Love,
Jos. Dietrich, Harold Carroll,
Luella Tieman, Martha Weigand
and Letta Taylor.
Paul Turnbull then showed
slides and gave a very interesting
account of four months he and
his family spent in Guatemala
following the severe earthquake
in that area. While there he was
engaged in building homes and
churches: . -
Group 3 and Martha Weigand
convener served lunch.

presented her pupils in a recital

Funds for
Conestoga
T. Phillip Adams, Deputy
Minister of Colleges and
Universities for Ontario, today
announced that Conestoga
College has been granted $80,000
for the architectural planning of
the proposed Coillege Sports and
Recreational Facility.
Priority will be given to the
construction of a gymnatorium.
Contingent upon some additional
funding from sources outside the
Ministry, an ice arena and pool
facilities will be added.
A sports trust fund, funded by
donations from College students,
faculty and staff' has been set up.
In addition, the College will
launch a public fund-raising
drive in June. Assurance has
been given that funds raised from
the private sector will be mat-
ched by Wintario funds.

Information and
Individual Privacy
The Commission on Freedom of Information and Indi-
vidual Privacy by authority vested in it by the Govern-.
ment of Ontario will undertake an enquiry to examine:
Public information practices of other jurisdictions
in order to consider possible changes which are
compatible with,the parliamentary traditions of
the Government of Ontario and complementary
to the mechanisms that presently exist for the
protection of the rights of individuals;
The individual's right of -access and appeal in
relation to the use of Government information;
The categories of Government information which
should be treated as confidential in order to
protect the public interest;
The effectiveness of present procedures for the
dissemination of Government information to the
public;
The protection of individual privacy and the right
of recourse in regard to the use of Government
records.
One aspect of the Study will include the acceptance
of written Briefs and the Receipt of Submissions as well
as a series of public meetings throughout the Province:
Persons or groups wishing to make representations to
the Commission on any aspect of the Study are re-
quested to write to the Counsel, Commission of Freedom
of Information and Individual Privacy, 444 Waterloo
Street, London, Ontario N6B 2P3 or to submit written
Briefs with the undersigned not later than August 1, 1977.
Public hearings.will be held at times and places in
Ontario to be announced later and those filing Briefs
or letters who wish to appear personally will be advised
as to the time and place when they will be heard.
