Mr. & Mrs. Harold Atwood of
Galion, Ohio, and Mrs. Atwood's
father of Sarnia, visited last
weekend with Mrs. E. J. Reid.
Master Dennis Florian of
Clinton, visited for the weekend
with his aunt, Mrs. Berthena
Hammond.
Mr. & Mrs. Clarence Larson of
London spent Mother's Day with
his mtoher and father, Mr. &
Mrs. R. J. Larson.
Mr. Harold A. Rogers and Mrs.
Rogers of Sun City, Arizona were
the weekend guests of his sister
and brother-in-law, Dr. R. G. &
Mrs. Hunter.
Mr. & Mrs. Bill Aberhart of
Sarnia spent the weekend at their
Village home.
Mrs. Myrtle Pease and Irvin of
London were at their Village
residence for the weekend.
Nice to welcome back Bob and
Grace O'Hara who are at their
Village home after spending the
winter months in the sunny south.
Mr. & Mrs. Keith Leonard,
WiIlowdale, visited last weekend
with her mother, Mrs. Clara
Featherstone in Queensway
Nursing Home in Hensall and
with her aunts, Mrs, E. J. Reid,
Mrs. R. J. Larson, Mrs. L. B.
Smith in the Village and also
ZMrs. George Reid in Varna..
Mr. & Mrs. Ralph Casler from
Lansing, Michigan, spent the
weekend with Mr. & Mrs. Nor-
man Talbot, also called on Mr. &
Mrs. Doug Talbot, Debbie,
Wendy and Lisa and Mr. & Mrs.
Les Talbot and Cari Lynn.
Mr. Ray Schell motored to
Ayer's Cliff, Quebec to spend a
few weeks with his daughter Miss
Evelyn Schell who is with the
Canadian Sunday School Mission
there.
Mr. & Mrs. Gerald Pence and
Robert of Rochester, Michigan,
visited for a few days with her
mother, Mrs. J. M. Atkinson.
Very sincere sympathy is
extended to Kay Cluff and
daughters Cindy and Coleen in
the sudden loss of a husband and
father, William Howard Cluff.
We understand that Mrs. Doris
Reddoch, wife of the United
Church minister is progressing
favourably and is expected home
early this week. Mrs. Reddoch
has been hospitalized in London.
Mr. Montague Evertt, an uncle
of Mrs. George Bellchamber of
Willowdale, formerly of Bayfield,
reported to his niece in a
telephone conversation that he
had been seated next to Miss
Birdie Marks at Samarkand,
Santa Barbar, California, when
she celebrated her 100th birthday
on March 19, 1977. Miss Marks is
a daughter of the late Tudor
Marks and was born and raised in
Bayfield.
Trinity Ladies Guild
Trinity Church Ladies Guild
met at the Rectory on Tuesday
afternoon, May 10 at 2:00 p.m.
with the president, Mrs. Vera
Turner presiding.
The meeting opened with the
repeating of the Lords Prayer in
unison. The roll call showed 16
members present; one guest
Mrs. Cathy Sauve and welcomed
one new member Mrs. Clara
Wilson,
Mrs. Fern Baker read the
scripture from St. John and also
read a lovely poem entitled
"Thoughts."
Mrs. Ruby Fitzsimons card and
flower secretary gave her report
and all the members signed a get -
well card to send to a member,
Mrs. Margaret Wain who is ill.
The meeting voted to send a
gift of money to their Foster
Child.
The Guild members have been
invited to the lovely lake side
home of Mrs. Ruth Mutzelburg
for their June meeting for a pot
luck supper.
The ladies are to meet at
Trinity Cnurch at 3:00 p.m. on
June 14 to be transported to Mrs.
Mutzelburg's:
The meeting closed with prayer
and the benediction.
Minor Soccer
Bayfield• and Grand Bend
Minor Soccer clubs coached by
Dave Silcock and Fred Gale,
joined forces to take on the
London and District champions,
Saturday last in St. Thomas.
The boys played a good game
and at half time they were 6 nil.
In the second half they came on
stronger and scored 4 goals,
loosing by a score of 6 to 4.
Andrew Couper scored two of the
goals assisted by Mike Telford
who also scored a goal. One of the
Grand Bend players scored the
fourth goal.
Tuesday night in Huron County
All-Star practise in Bayfield and
three boys from the Bayfield
team have made the all-stars
thus far and are namely, Darin
Telford, Robbie Chapman and
Wayne Gale. Thursday night,
Bayfield play Goderich in
Goderich.
The boys ask that you be
reminded of their pop bottle and
beer bottle drive on Saturday.
They would very much ap-
preciate your supprt.
Trinity Anglican
Sunday morning, Trinity
Anglican Church celebrated Holy
Communion with their Rector,
Rev. William Bennett as
celebrant. Assisting were Philip
Du Boulay and Andrew Erickson..
During the service, the Church
Warden, Harry Baker presented
a cheque to the Rector for the
World Hunger Fund.
Ascension Day
An invitation is extended for
Ascension Day, Thursday, May
19, to the Ordering of the Deacons
in St. George's Church, goderich
at 7:30 p.m. Ordinant will be Rt.
Rev. T. David B. Ragg, B.A.,
D.D., Bishop of Huron

Pentecost, Sunday, May 29 'at

Children's Festival
On Saturday, May 14, Christine
and Rick Johnston; Johnie and
Jamie Sauve; Melanie Van
Patter; Andrew, Luanne and
Lydia Erickson, with Rev.
William M. Bennett, Mrs. Pat
Van Patter and Mrs. Milvena
Erickson attended the Childrens
Festival in St. Pauls Cathedral in
London. About 1200 children were
present and ' enjoyed the
fellowship with one another. The
day was spent by watching a
magician perform some amazing
feats and telling the children of
Jesus and a puppet show.
Guest speaker
The special speaker at the
Bayfield Baptist Church Sunday
was Dr. Gerald Benn, president
of the Baptist Seminary of
London. Dr. Benn is also serving
as Associate Pastor of Central
