Golden Glimpses
Now that the weather seems to
be warming up, hopefully to stay,
the residents are moving their
lawn chairs out to the patio to
enjoy the sunshine and fresh air.
On Tuesday morning we were
pleased to have Mr. Lawrence
Wein join the residents in the
dining room for an hour of piano
music and singing.
While you are housecleaning
perhaps you will come across
some clean worn out panty hose
or nylons which you have no
longer any use for. We are also
interested in used jar rubbers
Suitable for place mats and nylon
quilted housecoats which you are
no longer wearing. All of these
articles have a useful purpose to
serve in our hobby shop.
The sympathy of residents and
staff is extended to the families of
the late Mrs. Ethel Hays and Mr.
Peter Gingerich, also Mr. Noah
Gingerich who resided at the
Maplewoods Apartments.
Perhaps if you read the column
last week you will have noted that
plans are underway to have a
volunteer student programme set
up for the summer. The Ladies
Auxiliary are looking for young
high school students who would
find spending time with the
residents to talk with them, read
their mail and local newspapers
and help them to write letters, a
rewarding experience. If you are
one of these students please
contact Mrs. Louis Farwell, RR 3
Zurich, telephone 236-4646 for
information.
On Tuesday evening some
members of the Zurich Men-
nonite Church visited the Home
and sang in the halls of the
Hospital Wing. If we have any
groups in the area who would be
interested in providing a
programme for the residents we -
would appreciate hearing from
them.

Skinner. Mrs. Elsie Henderson

Ago," -followed by a sing a long of

The Clinton Kinette Club en-
tertained their adopted grand-
mothers from Ground Floor
North and Centre Tuesday
evening with a smorgasbord.
banquet and program. Forty-
eight residents attended the
dinner and were presented with a
lovely corsage, when they
arrived.
The musical program included
the Wesley Willis primary choir
and several numbers by Mr. Cull.
Everyone reported a lovely
evening, and the Clinton Kinette
C1 Club are to be congratulated
for their many acts of kindness to
their adopted grandmothers.
The residents enjoyed an
evening of old tyme music on
Family Night provided by
Howard Smith and Archie Mann
of Brussels along with our own
Elsie Henderson and Norman
Speir.
Mrs. McCreight thanked the
entertainers on behalf of the
residents.
Meals on Wheels
A meeting was held at the
Maplewoods Apartments to
further organizing Meals on
Wheels. We plan on starting this
service as soon as possible in
June.

from the Blue Water Rest Home
will be $1.40. Meals on Wheels is
for a shut-in or for someone who
is not able to cook a hot meal for
themselves.
