Senior Citizens meet at Dash-
wood Community- Centre Mon-
day, May 16.
On the occasion of their ap-
proaching 55th wedding an-
niversary, May 10, Mr. & Mrs.
Reinhold Miller were entertained
for dinner at Grand Bend Sunday,
May 8, by members of their
family. Other visitors were Mrs,
Lovina Miller, Zurich; Mr. &
Mrs. Earl Stumpf, Kitchener;
Ernie and Shiela Miller; Mr. &
Mrs. Herbert Miller and Pastor
and Mrs. Mayo Mellecke.
Flowers in Zion Lutheran
church Sunday were placed in
loving memory by members of
the Pedersen family for Oluf
Pedersen. Also a plant was
placed by members of Mr. & Mrs.
Reinhold Miller's family in honor
of their 55th wedding an-
niversary.

Mrs. Albert Miller were Mrs.
Lovina Miller, Zurich and Mr. &
Mrs. Earl Stumpf, Kitchener.

Miss Pearl Kraft spent a few
days last week at London with

Mrs. Gordon Bender, the
District Director of Dashwood
W.I., attended the Officers'
Conference at Waterloo
University last week.
Mrs. Katie Weigand has moved
to Stratford.

family, Mr. & Mrs. Carl
Witherspoon and family,
Crediton; Mr. & Mrs. Bob Park,
Traci and Robbie, Parkhill; Mr.
& Mrs. Jack Schade and family,
Mr. & Mrs. Bill Schade, Karen
and Chris; and Gary Love,
Hillsgreen.
Carol Rader and Sandra
Schroeder from the Grade 11 and
12 French classes at South Huron
District High School returned
home Sunday after spending
some time on a trip to Quebec and
Montreal. They left Wednesday,
going by train to Quebec and flew
to Montreal and returned home
by plane. It was a rough trip
home Sunday in all the wind, but
the girls had a wonderful time.
Clayton Pfile has returned
home from South Huron Hospital,
Exeter.
Mr. & Mrs. Hugh Boyle, Fraser
and Trevor attended the Massai-
Arnott wedding in Toronto,
Saturday.
Mr. & Mrs. Valentine Becker
and Mr. & Mrs, Claire Deichert
and family of Zurich attended the
confirmation of John Buchlotz,
at St. Matthews Lutheran
Church, Kitchener, Sunday. John
is the grandson of Mr. & Mrs.
Becker and Mr, & Mrs. Deichert
are his sponsors,
Achievement Day
Achievement Day for the Dash-
wood 4-H clubs was held Satur-
day at Stephen Central School,
Those receiving County Honours
were Charlene Hartman and
Betty Rasenberg; Provincial
Honors, Susan Fischer; and
Advanced Honors, Pat Bender.
Institute pot luck supper
Thirty-six members and
. grandmothers were present for a
pot luck supper arranged by the
Citizenship and World Affairs
committee with Mrs. Emil
Becker, convener, for the June
meeting of Dashwood W.I.
Prizes were awarded to the
youngest grandmother, Mrs. Ted
Ducharme; grandmother with
the most recent grandchild, Mrs.
Jessie Rader; grandmother with
birthday nearest, Mrs. Verda
Moulton, who had a birthday that
day,
The president Mrs. Ray Rader
dealt with the business. Roll call
was answered by giving a
household hint. The District
Annual is at Grand Bend.
Delegates are Mrs. Gordon
Bender, Mrs, Howard Datars and
Mrs. Ray Rader. Fifteen dollars
will be given to Pennies for
Friendship. Fifty tickets are to be
ordered for a play at the Country
Playhouse.
Mrs. Eben Weigand and Mrs.
Howard Datars were nominated
to attend the 80th anniversary
celebrations at Bingeman Park,
Kitchener, July 13. A fine is to be
charged if members do not bring
a guest when asked. Members
are to bring ideas for a bus trip to
the June meeting, Planned
programs for the year were read.
Mrs. Jessie Rader thanked the
Institute for having the grand-
mothers as guests. Everyone
joined in playing bingo with
potted plants as gifts.

If you operate a business or farm and create a new
position for the summer, the Ontario Youth
Employment Program will give you a grant of $1 per
hour toward the wages of an unemployed youth you
hire for the job.
As a matter of fact, grants are available for up to•
six new positions per business or farm for each
operational site, and you may hire any unemployed
youth between the ages of 15 and 24 who lives in
Ontario and is eligible to work here.
The program will be in effect from May 30th to
September 16th, 1977, but the full 16 week
commitment is not required.
