Armstrong who has successfully
completed his first year at
Ridgetown Agricultural College.
James is the youngest son of Mr.
& Mrs. W.D. Armstrong, RR 3,
Bayfield.
Mr. & Mrs. Fred Heard of
Stratford visited Sunday with his
sister Mrs. Nina Haw and brother
Bill Heard.
Little Miss Merry Potter of RR
3, Clinton, spent the day Thur-
sday with her Grandpa and
Grandma, Mr. & Mrs. Jack B.
Sturgeon and great -grandma
Mrs. Violet Sturgeon.
Mr. & Mrs. Bill - Handley,
Windsor; Mr. & Mrs. Bill Mills
and Bill Jr., St. Petersburg,
Florida, were weekend
registered guests at the Albion
Hotel.
Bayfield Ever Young Senior
Citizens are looking forward to
their meeting Thursday evening,
(Tonight) at 7:30 p.m. in the
Municipal Building when slides
will be shown for the enjoyment
of all. •
A very pleasant afternoon was
spent last Friday at the Senior
Citizens Apartments when Fern
Baker and Esther Makins served
tea and cookies to those residing
there.
Mr. Ray Schell spent from
Saturday to Monday in Tillson-
burg and on Saturday attended
the 50th wedding anniversary
celebrations of Mr. & Mrs. Ansel
Charters.
Mr. & Mrs. Rob Irwin and
Robbie, London, visited Thur-
sday with his family, Mr. & Mrs.
E.W. Erickson,, Andrew, Luanne
and Lydia.
I popped into Brandon's Pro
Hardware on Saturday and
chatted with several of our
summer residents, Mr. & Mrs.
Chuck McFadden of Toronto;
Claire Ruffel of London and Joe
Laudenbach, Toronto; and Ron
Chapman of London. Nice to see
you all back in Bayfield.
Mr. & Mrs. T. Paton of Knox
College, Toronto, visited in the
village on Monday and became
acquainted with some of the
members of Knox- Presbyterian
Church. Mr. Paton will be the
student Minister in the Parish for
the summer and will begin
regular services on Sunday
morning, May 22 at 11 a.m. Mrs.
Paton will be helping her
husband.
A reminder that the Study
Group will meet at the home of
Rob and Doris Hunter on
Saturday evening, April 30 at 7:00
p.m. when Rob will give a paper
on "Forty years in the Glass
Industry".
Mrs. Eric Earl spent last week
in London with her families: Mr.
& Mrs. Wayne Winstone, Kim and
Joe and Mr. & Mrs. D.J.
Stevenson, Kathy, Karen, Doug
and David.
Baptist Services
Bayfield Baptist Church held
their regular Sunday Services
with Pastor Brian Harrison in
charge. The morning service
continued on the theme"What is
the World Coming To?" The
'second of the three part series
dealt with the "Crucifixion to
'Coronation". The coronation is
the rapture. Those who don't
know the Saviour but have heard
and rejected God's salvation
before the rapture, have no hope,
Muriel Snider favoured on the
piano with Cathi Cullen playing
the organ.
The evening service continued
with the study of the Book of
Daniel,
Unit One U.G.W.
The April meeting of Unit One
U.C.W. of St, Andrews United
Church was held at the home of
Mrs. Vivian Morton on Thur-
sday, April 14, at 2:00' p.m. There
were 16 members present. Mrs,
Elva Metcalf, Mrs. Betty Burch
and Mrs. Dorothy Merner were in
charge of the devotional period.
The theme was "The Sacred
Present", living each day to the
fullest, Mrs. Doris Reddoch
opened and closed the devotions
with prayers. Mrs. Nellie McRae
presided over the attractive tea
table and was assisted by Mrs.
Grace Duggan and Mrs. Violet
Carter.
THE DOLL AND THE FAIRY — These St. Boniface students presented
a short skit for their mothers during Education Week. The name of the
skit is The Doll, The Tree and The Fairy with Carolyne Regier the doll,
Nancy Overholt the tree and Theresa Regier the fairy.
