Miss Margaret Mousseau and
Wilfred Mousseau attended the
South Western Pro Life Con-
ference held at the Bethel
Tabernacle church Hall Strat-
ford, Saturday.
Miss Suzanne Rannie, Toronto
spent the weekend with her
mother Mrs. Sam Rannie.
Mr, & Mrs. Garnet Mousseau,
Ridgetown were weekend visitors
with Mr. & Mrs. Don Mousseau
and family.
Mr. & Mrs. Robert Cook
returned to their home last week
after spending the winter months
in Florida.
Mrs. Bertha MacGregor who
recently underwent surgery at St.
Joseph's Hospital, London spent
a few days with Mr. & Mrs, Don
MacLaren, Jodi and Brooke at
Oakville.
Mr. & Mrs. Robert Chaffe and
family of Mitchell were recent
visitors with Mrs. Chaffe's
parents, Mr, & Mrs. John Cor-
bett.
Mrs. Pearl Shaddick returned
to her home on. Thursday after
spending the winter months in
Florida.
Mr. & Mrs. Greg Smith and son
Jordie of Guelph and Miss
Margaret Smith of London
visited with their parents, Mr. &
Mrs. Jack Smith over the
weekend. Mr. Greg Sinith, who is
on the Faculty of Guelph
University, will be visiting his
parents again on Thdrsday for a
few days before returning to
Switzerland.
Mrs. Mabel Shirray has
returned from her trip to
Florida; including a trip to
Acapulco and Mexico City. As
the city is already seven miles
high, she stood on top of the
highest building in the world.
Mrs. Minnie Noakes has
returned from Portage. La
Prairie where she has been
visiting with her brother, Mr.
George (Dodie) Sangster who is a
patient in the hospital there.
United Church
Service at the United Church on
Sunday was conducted by Rev.
Don Beck, who took as his ser-
mon tneme, Peace. All who
desire true peace must be ready.

peace in their hearts. In place of
the regular choir anthem, Mrs.
Donna St. John, sang beautifully
the solo, "How lovely is Thy
Dwelling". The Sacrament of
Infant Baptism will be held on
Mother's Day, May 8, and in the
evening, the Huronia Choir will
present Jeffrey Beaumont's Folk
Mass.
Sew and Sews
The fourth meeting of the "Sew
and Sews" was held at Diane
Gerstankorn's house on April 19.
The leaders demonstrated how to
sew various trims on the girls'
garments. They also discussed
who would commentate for the
girls, while modellingtheir gar-
ments.The girls decided to have
one girl commentate while the
others were modelling. The next
meeting will be held on Wed-
nesday., April 27 at the usual
time.
Roy Todd passes
Roy Todd formerly of Hay
township and son of the late Mr. &
Mrs. George Todd passed away
in Strathmere Lodge, Strathroy,
Thursday, April 21 in his 87th
year. Funeral service and
committal was from the Bon-
thron Funeral Home on Satur-
day, April 24 conducted by Rev.
W. D. Jarvis.
St. Paul's A.C.W.
The regular meeting of St.
Paul's A.C.W. was held in the
church basement on Thursday
afternoon, April 21. After packing
a bale for -the North, the
president, Mrs. Frank Forrest.
opened the meeting with

Members Prayer, The Easter
anthem was repeated in unison
and Mrs. Windover then read the
scripture from 1 Corinthians 15
verses 1-26. Mrs. Annie Read
read the meditation from The
Living Message. The Litany was
followed by prayer.
On May 5 the A.C.W. Annual is
being held in London, The
Thankoffering will be received
for it during Sunday service and
sent in. Mrs. Anderson closed the
meeting with prayer.
Canoe race
Congratulations to Rene
Boogemans and -Ted Cowen who
took first place honors in the
expert class in the Maitland
River canoe race ori Sunday. The
race was organized by the Clinton
Kinsmen to raise funds for cystic
fibrosis research and was run
from Auburn County Park to
Holmesville.

Amber Lodge meets
Noble Grand Mrs. Dorothy
Parker presided for the meeting
of Amber Rebekah Lodge on
Wednesday evening assisted by
the Vice Grand Mrs, Maggie
Campbell, who reported for the
visiting committee. Mrs. Vera
Smale is a patient in St, Joseph's
Hospital, London.
Plans were made to attend the
Past.Grand's Night to be held at
Pride of Huron Lodge Exeter on
May 11 and to attend the 65th
anniversary of Edelweiss
Rebekah Lodge Seaforth on May
12 to be held in the Community
Centre. Tickets are available
from the Secretary Mrs. Leona
Parke. A discussion arose over a
"Bakeless Bake Sale" and it was
decided to leave it for a future
date.
Presentation to minister
A farewell party was held in
Carmel Presbyterian Church
rooms Tuesday evening for Rev.
Wilfred Jarvis who has been
minister of the congregation for
the past eight years. Mr. Bert
Thompson clerk of the session
was master of ceremonies for the
following program presented by
the different organizations of the
congregation.
Mrs. Malcolm Dougall and
Mrs. Edith Bell sang a duet "Let
The Rest of the World Go By" and
played a piano duet "Country
Garden." A Skit presented by the
Arnold Circle and Sunday School
teachers was entitled "The Biff
Jarvis Celebrity Roast." Mrs.
John Baker was the narrater with
