Mr. & Mrs. Archie Bender, Toronto, and Oscar Rogers, Mitchell, at University Hospital, London, with Mrs. Vernon Schatz. Mrs. Carl Lacapra, Peter- borough, and her two daughters, Carol of Toronto, and Janice of Ottawa with Mr. & Mrs. Earl Guenther. Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd Guenther, NESSEINER Jack and Betty and Bob Oesch were in Detroit for the weekend visiting with Mr. & Mrs, Russel Smith and Mr. & Mrs, Richard Newoala, Betty was godmother for the christening of Christopher Michael Newoala, 25th wedding anniversary Mr. & Mrs. T. Harry Hayter were taken by surprise when they arrived at their daughter and son-in-law's home, Mr. & Mrs. Paul Maguire of Southcott Pines, Grand Bend. A reception for their 25th wedding anniversary was ready to begin. This happy oc- casion was attended by many friends and relatives. A corsage from their godchild, Earl Van- dahl, Jr, of Montreal was pinned on Mrs. Hayter. After the lovely gifts were opened, Jayne Hayter recited an appropriate verse about Love and Marriage. A delicious buffet lunch was served. A cala lily flower arrangement, which was the bridal bouquet 25 years ago, graced the table centre. Mr. & Mrs. Hayter graciously thanked one and all for attending their joyous occasion. Citizens News, April 13, 1977 Page 17 Institute holds annual meeting The annual meeting of Dash- wood Women's Institute was held Tuesday, April 5, with directors Mrs. Valentine Becker, Mrs. Ralph Weber and Mrs. Harold Kellerman in charge. They were also the nominating committee, Mrs. Ray Rader, president, presided for the opening and the business. Mrs, Gordon Bender, district director gave a report on the executive meeting held in Hensall in the afternoon, The district annual will be held at Grand Bend United Church, May 19 with Mrs. H. K. Maluske guest speaker. The mileage for the district was raised to 20c a mile. Donations were requested from ARC Industries. The Officers Conference will be held at Waterloo May 3-5. The Convention at Vanastra with a craft display from South Huron. ,Erland Lee Women's Institute week is June 6-10. The 80th an Hawks — Continued from Page 16 Taylor, Saturday's verdict was hardly in doubt after the Hawks took a 2- 0 lead in the first period. Randy Lovie took the steam out of the Dukes attack with a perfect performance and the only question appeared to be how many tallies the Hawks would score. They settled for eight, although they missed a dozen more. Paul Pooley, called up from the midgets to replace the injured Gerald Weido, hit four goal posts alone as the Hawks dominated play. Matt Muller and Don McKeller paced the attack with a pair of tallies each, while singles came off the sticks of Noel Skinner, Brian Taylor, Paul Pooley and Rick Ingram. Muller also collected three assists, while Ingram, Taylor and Skinner had two each. Helping out on single goals were Phil Knight, Steve Jennison, Jim Ferguson and Don McKeller. Harrison again quit after the Hawks scored their fourth tally at the mid -way mark of the second period. 4-H meeting Dashwood club 3, "The Little Rippers" held their fifth meeting Monday, April 4, at the home of Sheila Miller. The leaders demonstrated facings, self - casings, applied casings and bindings. The next meeting is Thursday, April 14 at the home of Mrs. Maxine Miller. niversary of the W.I. will be celebrated at Bingeman Park, Kitchener. Mrs. Gordon Bender will be the delegate to the Officers' Conference. The Red Cross canvas will be completed this week. Reports were heard from all conveners and the secretary. Mrs. Letta Taylor gave the auditor's report. Mrs. V. L. Becker gave the report of the nominating committee and Mrs. Syd Baker presided for the election of officers as follows: past president, Mrs. Gordon Bender; president, Mrs. Ray Rader; vice-presidents, Mrs. Eben Weigand and Mrs. Syd Baker; secretary -treasurer, Mrs. Howard Datars; assistant, Mrs. Earl Keller; District Director, Mrs. Gordon Bender; alternate, Mrs. Glen Webb; Directors and nominating committee, Mrs. V. L. Becker, Mrs. Ralph Weber and Mrs. Harold Kellerman; Tweedsmuir Curator, Mrs. Irvin Rader; Public Relations and Press Reporter, Mrs. Paul Watson; Resolutions, Mrs, John Rader; pianist, Mrs. J. M. Tiernan; auditors, Mrs. T. H. Hoffman and Mrs, R. H. Taylor. Standing committees, Citizenship and World Afairs, Mrs. Earl Keller; Education and Cultural Activities, Mrs. Emil Becker; Agriculture and Canadian Industries, Mrs. Stuart Wolfe; Family and Consumer Affairs, Mrs, Gordon Bender. It was decided to start a new scrapbook with Mrs. E. R. Guenther and Mrs. Otto Willert, clippers. Each member was urged to keep a house log. Gifts were opened from Secret Pals and new ones drawn for. The committee served lunch.
