Bayfield Brownies, Cubs and
Scouts attended St. Andrews
United Church on Sunday mor-
ning to observe Scouting Week in
honour of the founders Lord and
Lady Baden Powell.
The 48 young people and their
leaders were led into church by
the colour party, consisting of
Brownie Lisa Telford, Cub
Michael Clark and Scout Roger
McKinley. Scout Rob Siertsema
and Cub Trevor Scotchmer acted
as ushers and Scout Larry
Taman read the scripture.
St. Andrews minister Rev.
James Reddoch spoke to the
group and told them of the
similarity of Scouting and the
Bible. He said the Bible speaks of
those living in tents and he said
they would have made good
scouts.
Rev. Reddoch asked for a
showing of Brownie Sixers; the
Cub Grand Howl and a Scout
presentation. It was a mostim-
pressive service and thanks
is extended to Rev. Reddoch and
St. Andrews Church for their
hospitality.

She has two little girls in
Brownies, Ann and Trudy, and is
one of those moms who is capable
and willing to lend a hand. She
has agreed to help us out and we
are very grateful, as with 30 little
girls all eager to learn, we find it
a handful at times.

closed with taps.
Our sincere thanks to the
mothers who come to the L.A.
meetings. Wednesday night,
February 7, they were just
terrific testers for some badge
work. The Brownie Badges
cannot be tested by leaders but
must be outsiders. The executive
of the L.A. have been most kind
and encouraging to the leaders
this year and we appreciate it all
very much.
The above was to have been in
last week's news. We must
apologize for not including it, but
to let you in on the "why it
wasn't" is because Brown Owl
left it at our door—the wind
apparentlycaught it—
Wednesday evening our son
found it blowing around the
"back forty".

Cubs visit Clinton
As part of their badge work in
their five star pgrogram in
Cubbing, the Cubs were exposed
to the inner workings of the
Clinton Fire Department and the
Clinton Police Department on
Saturday morning.
Leader Alan Gates and
assistant leader Carol Fisher, of
the first Bayfield Cub Pack,
accompanied the boys. Mrs.
Fisher said they had very much
enjoyed their outing and it was
most informative.
She also said a very sincere
thank you to Captain Cox of the
Clinton Fire Department and to
Clinton's Police Chief Lloyd
Westlake for giving of their time
and for all the courtesies shown
to them.
