BLUE WATER REST HOME
Its hard to say until the last
minute whether or not March will
come' roaring in like a lion or
quietly like a Iamb.
This morning I heard the crows
cawing in the bush, and some of
the smaller birds joining in the
chorus. I am sure they must be
like us, begging for spring.
The films were shown on
Monday evening, followed by
refreshments.
Since weather conditions were
somewhat less than perfect
through the week, it was too risky
for the residents to venture out to
take in the movie at Maplewoods
on Thursday afternoon. In fact
the week was rather quiet with
the exception of our busy workers
in the craft room which helps to
keep the winter blues at arm's
length.
This Thursday afternoon,
March 3, a movie starring Bob
Hope and Bing Crosby will be
shown in the recreation room of
Maplewoods. Because of the poor
weather conditions that have
been prevailing, for this week the
movie will be shown only during
the afternoon.
I wish to draw to your attention
that the draw for the afghan has
been changed from March 17 to
Saturday, March 19, at which
time a bazaar, bake sale and tea
will be held in the recreation
room of Maplewoods. We hope all
who are planning to attend this
affair will change their calendars
from the 17th to the 19th which
will make it more convenient for
most of us to attend. Tickets are
still available at either the
tuckshop or the office here at the
Home on the afghan if anyone is
interested.
The annual meeting of the Blue
Water Rest Home has been
scheduled for Tuesday, March 15
at 8:00 p.m. hereat the Home. All
interested people are invited to
attend.
Bingo was . played on Friday
evening followed by refresh-
ments.
The Sunday evening chapel
service was conducted by Rev.
Harold Snell, assistant minister
of Exeter United Church. Mr.
Bob Cameron presided at the
organ.
