BLUE WATER REST HOME
What a relief to see the sun-
shine and to have a few days of
mild, sane weather on the
weekend, but to get up Sunday
and find it as stormy as ever was
like a slap in the face. Now that
February is more than half gone,
surely there is something better
in store for us.
Films were shown on Monday
evening, thanks to Mr. Don
O'Brien for delivering them from
Goderich to us. Following the
films, refreshments were served.
On Tuesday, evening, the
Catholic Women's Leagqe of St.
Boniface Church sponsored the
monthly birthday party. Since
weather problems hampered the
programme planned, bingo was
played in its stead. Residents
having birthdays during the
month of February are Mrs.
Willa Brock, Mrs. Rebecca
Clarke, Mrs. Ida Eccleston, Mrs.
Irla Gingerich, Mrs. Agnes
McDougall, Mrs. Elizabeth
Thompson, Mrs. Viola Unruh and
Mr. Eldon Ortwein. Gifts were
distributed, courtesy of the
Ladies Auxiliary and refresh-
ments and a social time followed.
While you are housecleaning
closets and drawers, you might
keep our craft room in mind for
used clean nylons and panty hose,
odds and ends of new materials
such as prints, crimps, yarns,
etc.
On Thursday afternoon a
number of our Residents attend
the "Ma & Pa Kettle goes to
Town" movie shown in the
recreation room of the
Maplewoods apartments. The
next movie will be "No Man of
Her Own" starring Clark Gable
and Carol Lombard and will be
shown on Thursday afternoon
and evening at 2:00 p.m. and 7.30
p.m. The public are invited to
attend whether you be youngsters
or oldsters and it might be an
opportunity to get acquainted
with your neighbours in
Maplewoods as well.
On Thursday evening bingo
was played followed by refresh-
ments.
The Sunday evening chapel
service was canclled due to the
stormy weather.
