P.U.C. employees get 8 percent raise
'Employees of the Zurich PUC
will receive 8 percent increases
in their wages, but the renum-
eration to councillors for sitting
on the committee will not be
increased. This was decided at a
meeting of the Zurich Hydro and
Water committee of council
earlier in the year.
Manager of the PUC, Charles
Eckel, and Leroy Thiel, chair-
man of the council committee,
were named as signing officers of
the system for 1977 and 1978.
The committee voted for R..
Boussey for Director -at -Large
with the AMEI.
Mr. Eckel reported to the
committee of council that the
hydro was turned on at the new
Senior Citizen home. on January
7, 1977.
At a later meeting of the
committee of council in charge of
the PUC, it was decided charges
to the Dashwood Hydro Systems
would be raised. Hourly wages
increased $1.60 per hour to $10.00,
the truck charges for a single
bucket truck for line work will be
$10 per hour and for meter
reading $6 per hour. Charges per
bill will be 75 cents and the fee for
attending a meeting will be $15,
This should allow the PUC to at
least break even concerning their
work in the Dashwood system.
