Mrs. Gerald Mason returned
home Thursday following
surgery at St. Joseph's Hospital,
London,
Mrs, Vernon Schatz and Ray
Webb are patients in South Huron
Hospital, Exeter.
I have been asked to explain
that the reason for the United
Church closing Sunday was
because the pastor, Rev. Bruce
Guy and Mrs. Guy were storm
stayed at Kippen.
Mr. & Mrs. Fred Miller and
girls, Zion, were Sunday visitors
with Mr. & Mrs. Irvin Rader.
Mr. & Mrs. Lorne Genttner
attended the funeral of Lorne's
brother-in-law at London,
Wednesday, February 2.
Miss Sharon Rader, London,
spent a couple of days with Mr. &
Mrs. Irvin Rader.
Mr. Sr Mrs. Victor Hartman
accompanied by Mr. & Mrs.
Alphonse Grenier of Hensall
returned home last week from an
enjoyable trip to Phoenix,
Arizona, also visiting the Grand
Canyon, Las Vegas, Mexico and
Detroit where they were
snowl,found at the home of Mr. &
Mrs. Gary Egan.
Mr. & Mrs. Gary Egan and
Julie Michelle of Harper Woods,
Michigan, spent the weekend
with Mr. & Mrs. Victor Hartman
and family.
Crippled Kids weekend
The eighth annual Crippled
Kids weekend at the Pineridge
Chalet is set for the weekend of
February 18, 19 and 20. George
and Lucille Beer and Don and
Shirley Mousseau have again
lined up an interesting and fun
packed weekend for persons of all
ages.
The three day event begins on
the Friday night with a dance
featuring Joe Overholt and the
Standbys. Saturday will feature a
snowmobile poker rally and free
snowmobile rides for the
children.
Sunday will be the big day with
a pancake breakfast continuing
from 8:30 p.m. to the noon hour.
Heading the list of celebrity chefs
will be Bill Brady on CFPL in
London and Ralph Duffus of the
London Crippled Children's
Treatment Centre.

For several years now Brady
and Duffus have been vying for
best pancaking making honours
and their good natured quips will
add to the fun.
An added attraction this year
will be the appearance of Big Al
from CKCO television in Kit-
chener. Big Al will be on hand to
meet the many children expected
td attend.
Another poker rally will be held
Sunday afternoon and free
snowmobile rides will again be
available for the youngsters.
In the Chalet clubhouse Sunday
afternoon an excellent array of
talent has been lined up. These
include Joe Overholt, The Little
People, Gerald Davidson, The
Bradley Bunch and a number of
step dancers.
Gerald Davidson was the
champion Canadian open country
singer in 1975 and 1976.
Mooseburgers will be on sale
all weekend. Admission is only
one dollar or possession of a
crippled children's button.

Calvary annual
meeting held
The postponed meeting of
Calvary United Church was held
Sunday, February 6, following
lunch served by members of the
U.C.W.
With Rev. Bruce Guy chair-
man, the following new officers
were appointed. Elders, Gordon
Bender, Betty Riddell, George
Tiernan and Bill Hoffman;
