BLUE WATER REST HOME
aibt
One wonders if things can get
much worse. The sun tries to
shine through the blizzard almost
every day but that doesn't seem
to curb the winds and drifting
snow. All we can do is hope that
there will be no severe emergen-
cies such as illness and fire.
So far we have been able to
keep enough fuel and food on
hand• Several of the staff have
been working double shifts to
cover for those who are unable to
get in, and many of us have had
to spend our nights here because
we didn't have any other alter-
natives.
Despite the weather, we had
our Monday evening movies
after which refreshments were
enjoyed.
We are pleased that Mr.
Passmore has recovered suf-
ficiently
hospital.
All interested readers please
note that the movie "The Other
Side of the Mountain", scheduled
to be shown at the Maplewoods
Apartments on Thursday,
February 3rd, has been cancelled
for that date and has been re-
scheduled for Thursday, April
7th, for the afternoon and even-
ing. By that time, -we are hoping
for shirt -sleeve weather so that
all will have the opportunity to
get tosee it.
out
Bingo was played on Friday
evening, followed by
refreshments.
We regret that Mr. Thos.
Westlake is a patient in St.
Joseph's Hospital, London.
Like the majority of churches,
our chapel service was cancelled
on Sunday evening.

Flyers lose close one
Last Tuesday the Zurich
Flyers went down to defeat in a
close game played at Vanastra
against Goderich.
Zurich opened the scoring and
kept the lead all through the first
period as Steve Haberer stored
assisted by Steve Bedour and
Kevin.McKinnon. Goderich final-
ly found the target in the first
minute of the second period to tie
the game but the Flyers took
over for the rest of the 20
minutes, Randy McKinnon and
Steve Haberer both scored for
Zurich to give them a three to
one lead, Zurich assists went to
Pat Bedard and Ken Smale.
At the sixteen minute mark of
the third period the Goderich
team came to life and before the
period ended they had scored
twice to tie the score.
The third period was hectic as
three goals were scored in the
first half of the period with
Goderich scoring two and Steve
Haberer scoring his third for
Zurich. The last half of the
period was a closely fought bat-
tle, with neither team able to
score thus giving the Goderich
team a five to four victory.
Stars of the game were Steve
Haberer for Zurich and Milt
Place for Goderich.
