Golden Glimpses
The residents and staff of
the home are happy to have
this opportunity to wish all of
our readers a very Merry
Christmas and a Happy and
Joyous New. Year, and to
thank those who have been
so faithful in visiting and
providing - entertainment of
any sort which helps
brighten their days.
By the time our column
appears again we will be into
the New Year.
Films were shown on
Monday evening followed by
refreshments.
On Tuesday morning the
junior children of St.
Boniface school, Zurich,
visited the home and sang
Christmas music for the
residents.
At the close of the
programme, they presented
each resident with Christ-
mas cards which they had
made.
We wish to thank the ladies
of the Catholic Women's
League for the beautiful
bushel of apples as treats for
the residents.
The monthly birthday
party was held on Wed-
nesday evening sponsored by
the Hensall Women's
Institute. Residents having
birthdays during the month
of December and receiving a
gift were Misses Viola
Cadger, Milverna Geiger,
Cecil McLeod, Mrs. Mabel
Gossman, Mrs. Matilda
Rau and Mrs. Dora
Waghorn. Following the
programme a delicious
lunch was served and a
social time enjoyed.
The children of Grand
Bend Public School
presented a Christmas
programme of Carols on
Friday morning. Following
this they presented each
resident with hand made
hangings for their doors.
Friday evening bingo was
played.
The adult Sunday school
classes of the Zurich Men-
nonite Church visited the
home on Sunday morning
and sang carols in the dining
room.
We were pleased that so
many groups have found
time to bring the spirit of
Christmas to the residents.
Members of the Auxiliary
please remember the first
meeting of the New Year to
be held January 2nd at 1:00
p.m. at the home.
We are pleased to welcome
