Staff photo Bayfield Guild has successful bazaar By GRETA SCOTCHMER The December meeting of Trinity Church Ladies' Guild was held at the home of Mrs. Ruby Fitzsimons, on Tuesday afternoon, with the President Lorna Merner presiding. The roll call was answered by 13 members and two guests were welcomed, Marie Fitzsim- ons and Janet McDougall. The President thanks us all for coming out and also our two guests, Marie and Janet. Fern Baker read the Bible lesson from Luke, Chapter 1 and Debbie Wain read a delightful and thought -searching poem "Faith is a mighty for- tress". Greta Scotchmer, a former secretary for many years acted on behalf of our regular secretary, Berthena Hammond, who is trying to get our mail through the post -office. Hope you are back on the job for January, Berthena. A letter was read from our foster child in Pakistan thanking us for her birthday gift and telling Ruby Fitz- simons has written to her. Thank -you cards were received from our recent ill people of the church to whom we had sent flowers or cards. Vera Turner gave her treasurer's report. Our bazaar was a great success and donations are still com- ing in. It was reported that in the penny collection the blues are riding high with the pinks trying to catch up. By mutual agreement it was decided to hold the pot luck supper with our September meeting, but to keep the pennies coming for next year. The pennies from the blue and pink competition are given to the Sunday school and our birthday bank money goes to the new Rec- tory building fund. Eighteen memorial cards were sent out during the year. Many of these brought back sad memories of friends, close and dear to us. As our officers for 1978 have done a wonderful job we voted them all back again to their offices to do their usual good work. How about it girls? Everyone happy? Our thoughts and prayers are with Ruth and Ken Mutzelburg. Ken is in University Hospital un- dergoing heart surgery. We wish him a speedy recovery. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 9th with a Bible reading by Jeanne Bennett and a poem for the New Year by Ruby Fitzsimons, CALL 236-4555 ZURICH DOUG ERB 3RD WORLD CRAFT STORE LIVE...
