Christmas meanings New Years Resolutions For 1979 By Kevin Howard Huron Centennial Some of my Resolutions for 1979 are ways to help around our house such as. I will make my bed more often and clean my bedroom every day. I will wash the dishesand help my mom cook the meals. Also at school I will try to be a better writer and reader. I will go in all the sports at school if I can and I will try not to fight with my class -mates. I promise to do my home work and study for tests. I will wash my hands and face, brush my teeth and comb my hair every day before I go to school. I will be a better worker at home and CHRISTMAS . What Does Christmas Means To Me? BY DEBBIE 'TAYLOR Grade 5 Huron Centennial Christmas means that Christ was born on Christ- mas day and then we celebrate his birthday. All of our families get together to celebrate it. We receive gifts and give gifts to loved ones. That is what Christmas means to me. Staff photo Knight scores three Sherwoods mesmerize Centralia In their only start of the week, the Hensall Sherwoods pounded Cen- tralia 11-5 in a game played Thursday in Hensall. Leading the way for the Sherwoods was Steve Knight with a hat -trick. The Sherwoods jumped into a 1-0 lead as Wayne Corbett scored an unassisted goal with less than five minutes elapsed in the period. Three minutes later Cen- tralia tied the game up as Mark Cronyn scored from Ron Funston and Paul Theander. Hensall came back to score three consecutive goals with Alan Taylor scor- ing from Dwight Consitt and Bill Chipchase. Fred Campbell than Hensall bests Listowel Hensall Juveniles skated to a 3-1 win, Friday night over the Listowel Cyclones. Hensall fared well over the Listowel team this year beating them twice and tieing them once. Steve Grainger opened the scoring in the first period assisted by Darrell Presz- cator. Hensall's second goal came near the end of the period scored by Grant Love on assists from Dave Cann and Steve Grainger. Despite a strong effort in the second period, neither team managed to score a goal, leaving the score at 2-0 for Hensall. It looked like Steve Sararas was going to have his first shutout of the season, then Listowel scored with 46 seconds left in the game to make the score 2-1. Listowel pulled their goalie to try to even the score, but Grant Love came up with his second goal of the game, on assists by Dave Cann and Ron May to give Hensall a 3- 1 win. The Sherwoods final goal of the period came as Taylor scored from Consitt and Gary Kyle. In the second period, Hen- sall added to their lead as Knight scored the first of his three goals. Brian Campbell assisted. Centralia got that one back as Ron Funston scored from brother Rick and Cronyn. Knight then scored to up the margin to 7-2 for the Sherwoods. Assisting once again was Brian Campbell. The final goal of the period came at the 17:39 mark as Centralia's Ron Funston beat Laurie Skinner in net for Hensall. Cronyn and Rick Funston assisted. In the final stanza, the home team out scored their opposition with Knight pick- ing up his third goal of the game. Corbett added the assist. Once again, Centralia narrowed the margin as Rick Funston scored an un- assisted goal at the 13 minute mark. Hensall then scored the final two goals of .the game sandwiched around a Cen- tralia marker. Larry Bourne took a pass from Rick Ingram and put one past Rick Snell in net for the Stephen township squad. Centralia's final goal of the game came as Eldon McCutcheon took passes from Bill Hodge and John Muller and fired one past Skinner. Ingram picked up his se- cond point of the evening as he scored with less than three minutes remaining. Bourne assisted. The Sherwoods in their final start until January play host to Grand Bend tonight.
