PEEWEE CLUB — Once again Grand Bend and Zurich have joined forces for the upcoming hockey season. In the back row is coach Kim McKinnon, Jeff Laporte, Dan Creces, Com Steckle, Dennis Schroeder, Gerry Smith, Tim Teeter and manager Howard Armstrong. The middle row has Bob Snell, Dean, Armstrong, Brian Kading, Rick Kuepfer, Darcy Martin and coach Kerry Bedard. Up front are Doug Schade, Mike Bedard, Karmen Bedard, Derrick McKinnon and Mark Boogemans. Children see resort from wagon The village is beautiful these days - in the daytime sun and clouds above, the Bayfield by Gwen Pemberton usual breath -taking sunsets, at night a full moon and bright stars above the oc- casional light skim of snow and Christmas lights everywhere! Perfect set- tings for fortunate children! Holidays have not even begun for the younger set but the number of parties is impossible to keep track of by a correspondent. A Sunday School party was held by Trinity Anglican after the service on Sunday when Carols were sung, led by Lillian Higgins, and dear old Santa arrived in time to distribute gifts to the TOWNE AND COUNTRY DINER AND DRIVE-IN CLOSED Christmas Eve to January 1 Reopening January 2 HOURS Monday -Thursday 7 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday Saturday Sunday 7 a.m.-1 a.m. 10 a.m.-1 a.m. 10 a.m.-11 p.m. children. Lunch was provided by the Guild and adults were welcome so they stayed to enjoy the good time. Tom Penhale took Sunday School children from St. Andrew's for a wagon -ride - no snow for the promised sleigh ride - and the party continued at the church one day last week. I haven't heard but I bet old Santa got to that party too! He gets around a lot faster than I can! The scout groups have had their parties assisted by their Ladies' Auxiliary and planned by their leaders. A happy Christmas for them all, scouts, cubs, guides, brownies and beavers! The Lioness Christmas Party for children took place at the Town Hall on Saturday afternoon. Three movie cartoons were shown, presented by the Huron County Library. Santa Claus was there to present each child with Chocolate Milk and other goodies. The draw for the huge Lioness Christmas stocking which has been on display in the window of the Bayfield Archives Room at the Library for past weeks took place at the party and was won by Joe Nigh. St. Andrew's candlelight -carol service The choir at St. Andrew's United Church has been preparing for the Can- dlelight Carol Service for weeks. On Sunday night the congregation enjoyed the results. Candlelight from the window -wells flickered over the crowded pews. Accompanied by the Processional Hymn "0 Come All Ye Faithful," the candle -bearing choir members moved down the aisles of the darkened nave to fill the choir loft. As the service progressed, the musical numbers evoked the true spirit of Christmas in the special way that beautiful music has the power to do.
