HomeMy WebLinkAboutZurich Citizens News, 1978-11-30, Page 3Hensall Legion plans Christmas events season Hensall branch 468 of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Ladies Auxiliary to the Legion have planned several events for the Christmas season. There will ,be public skating for all age groups "lensed' Hilda Payne Bertha McGregor from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m, on December 9 and 16, spon- sored by the Legion and Auxiliary. December 3 members of the legion and the Ladies Auxiliary are planning to visit the patients at the Queensway Nursing Home to entertain them with a Christmas party. The Christmas party for members' children will be held in the Legion Hall, Hensall at 2 p.m. December 10. Juveniles tie third in a row Hensall Juveniles played to a 2-2 tie Sunday night against the Milverton Juveniles. It was the third tie in as many games. Hensall is now in a tie for first place with the Kurtzville team. Milverton opened the scoring three minute into the game. They then scored again early in the second period to make it 2-0. Allan Bell scored at 3:23 of the second period with Paul Bell assisting. Early in the third period Allan Bell scored again with assists by Brian Baker and Paul Shanks to tie the game at 2-2. Steve Sararas played a strong game as usual to keep his goal average below two goals. Church service Rev. Hugh Davidson of Listowel conducted service in Carmel Presbyterian Church on Sunday. Mrs. Robert Taylor presided at the organ and led the choif in the anthem "Wonderful Words of Life". Personals Mrs. Edgar Munn returned home after visiting with her son-in-law and daughter Mr. & Mrs. Don Gooding and Dale at Parkhill. Mr. David Beer of the R.C.M.P. Mrs. Beer and daughter Kristina who have been visiting with the for- mer's mother Mrs. Lillian Beer returned to their home in Mission British Columbia. Anyone having tickets on the Senior Citizens quilt are asked to hand them in to Mrs. Ruby Bell or Mrs. Pere Campbell by December I. The draw will be made at the Seniors' Christmas party December 12.
