NOM 1 SO PUPPET SHOW ATTRACTS OVER 100 — A puppet show sponsored by the Huron County Library and held Saturday at the Hay township hall attracted over 100 parents and children. Staff photo Golden Glimpses No doubt almost everyone made good use of the beautiful weekend to enjoy the autumn scenery and the balmy weather. Residents who were out visiting during the week were Mrs. Adeline Kraft, Mrs. Mary Sturley, Mrs. Anna Kew, Mrs. Alma Southcott, Mrs. Jenny Davis, Mr. Wm. Decker and Mrs. Ruby Hoggarth. The film programme began on Monday evening and those shown were "Ireland Eden" and "Two Tars". Refreshments followed. The October birthday par- ty was held on Tuesday evening sponsored by the U.C.W. of Bayfield United Church. Thanksgiving was the theme chosen for the evening. Phone 236-7793 Siertsema favoured with some tap numbers and Rev. Alun Thomas played the guitar and led the audience in group singing. Residents having birthdays during the month of October are Mr. Scott Chandler, Miss Flossie Davis, Mrs. Pearl Gale, Mrs. Adeline Kraft and Mrs. Alma Southcott. Following the programme, a delicious lunch was served. Rev. Oelsner, minister of St. Peter's Lutheran church, Zurich, showed pictures on Thursday afternoon of places of interest while on a tour of the overseas coun- tries. We were pleased to have a number of people from the surrounding area present. This Friday evening at 7:00 p.m., October 27th, we have invited Mrs. Storey and her dance pupils from Seaforth to present a programme for the residents and any of our readers who would enjoy the evening's entertainment. Bingo was played on Fri- day evening followed by refreshments. I would like to remind the ladies off the surrounding area that the annual bazaar and tea will be held on Satur- day, November 18th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. We hope you will reserve this date.
