A special film will be shown - the aim of the week end is to make a Good Marriage, Better. Baby Shower A baby Shower was held at the home of Mrs. Vicki Geoffrey on Sunday for her sister-in-law Debbie Overholt (Bedard). It was in the form of a wine and cheese party. Counter -weight starts The counter weight program has started and there are now seventeen ladies who are members. Mrs. Rachelle LaPorte is the lecturer and the classes are beingheld at the town hall. A regular schedule will begin on November 8th. Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. Anyone interested can join at any time. Return from trip Gertrude Fleischauer and Mary McKinnon returned home from a pleasant bus trip to Wheeling West Virginia. Earl and Martha Heywood of Wingham hosted the tour. They also stopped in Akron Ohio, and were among the audience of the Rex's Humbard T.V. program' held in the beautiful, Cathedral of tomorrow. Communion breakfast Members of the Knights of Columbus and their wives from Zurich and the Blue Water, attended Mass and a Communion breakfast in St. Columban on Sunday. It was anhonor to have Bishop Sherlock with them as 'their guest speaker, Personals Mr. & Mrs. Curtis Gingerich of R.R. 2 Zurich have purchased a home in town on Edward street and are now busy redecorating as they hope to be moved in before the cold weather starts. Mr. & Mrs. Earl Schilbe, Mr. & Mrs. Albert Schilbe of Bayfield and Mr. & Mrs. Ken Baker of Shipka were Sunday visitors with their mother Mrs. Emma Schilbe. We extend our best wishes to Mr. & Mrs. Remi Denomme on the occasion of their 55th wedding an- niversary. Butch and Marion Sweeney of Kippen kept ari eye on the business for Tony and Marlene Bedard while they were away to a Marriage Encounter week end in St. Thomas. Earl and Ann Flaxbard were dinner guests at their daughter and son -in-laws, Shirley and Ross Copper in Ingersoll on Sunday they celebrated their grand daughters birthday (Lori). Mr. & Mrs. O'Rourke and Mr. & Mrs. Alvilla (Bill) Ducharme are happy to have a new grand daughter, born on October 17th. The proud parents are Pauline and Ray Ducharme of Camlachie, near Sarnia. Ruth and Ernie Gemming of Rochester New York, enjoyed several days of our nice fall weather along the lake visiting with Ruth's brother and his wife, Ross and Marg Johnston. Father A. Durand, pastor of St. Boniface Church, is presently a patient in St. Joseph's Hospital,London. Mrs. Lois Thiel hosted a baby shower in her home last Wednesday for Mrs. Alma Westlake. Many lovely gifts were received for baby, Jayne. Carol Des Marais of Oil Spring called on her sister and family for the day last Tuesday, being Jerome and Carmel Sweeney. Week end guests with Mrs. Adella Regier were her grand daughter and husband, Mr. & Mrs. Charles Basden of Windsor. Miss Sandra Webb of London spent the week end with her sister and brother- in-law Linda and Bob Hendrick and children. Mr. & Mrs. Elam Shantz, Mr. & Mrs. Gerald Shantz and family, Mrs. Seleda Steckle and Bill, Betty and Dianna Steckle attended the Shantz reunion at the Manheim Hall this past Sunday. Mr. & Mrs. Gordon Erb, family and relatives celebrated a reunion in honour of the home coming of their daughter Carol at the Brucefield School. Four ladies from this area attended the South Huron fall regional meeting of the United Church last week in Chiselhurst, and Ron Heimrich was the guest speaker at the morning session. Asked to visit aged The October meeting of the St. Boniface CWL opened with the living rosary. Forty- one members were present with four visitors assisting from St. Peters CWL. Our president Mrs. Gelinas welcomed everyone. The Spiritual convener read a prayer for priests. A motion was made to send a donation to C.N.I.B. Mrs. Cecilia Farwell gave a report on the rest home encouraging everyone that an effort be made to visit the aged. Family Life Mary Regier urged the ladies to write to any MP (Jack Riddell for one). The league was informed that Marriage Encounter will be holding information night October 26 and everyone is welcomed. Meeting was then ad- journed by Elaine Beauchamp. The door prize was won by Mrs. Barbara Regier, A politician is an operator who takes money from the rich and votes from the poor and promises ,both sides' protection from each other.
