Annual fowl supper Zion Lutheran church Ladies' Aid held their annual fowl supper for their husbands or friends Wed- nesday with group three and Mrs. Esther Salmon, con- vener, in charge. Following a sing song, Eleanor Salmon spoke on her summer spent at St. Pierre, twelve miles off the south coast of Newfoundland. She showed slides and souvenirs. Mrs. Lorne Genttner, president, conducted a short business meeting. The Altar Guild reported 11 visits. The new Guild is Mrs. Dave Rader and Mrs. Harvey Beierling. The Aid will cater to a wedding in May. Hear about world outreach The United Church Women of Calvary church held their Thanksgiving meeting, Tuesday, with the World Outreach group in charge and Mrs. Mildred Keller- man, chairlady. Responsive reading and prayer was given by Mrs. Clayton Merner. "Count Your Blessings" was sung with Mrs. Kellerman reading an ap- propriate verse of thanksgiving between each verse. Thankoffering boxes were presented with each one giving a reason to be thankful. Mrs. Mervyn Tieman and Mrs. Gerald Mason sang "My Desires". Guest speaker, Mrs. Grant Mills, Exeter, spoke on World Outreach. She explained how the mission dollars are spent. She was thanked by Mrs. Don Gaiser and presented a gift. Mrs. Gordon Bender, president, dealt with the business. Nineteen members answered the roll call. The Sunshine Committee is Mrs. Gordon Bender and Mrs. Clayton Merner. 4-H meets Dashwood Club 2 of the 4-H girls held their meeting Tuesday with 15 members answering the roll call. Eating habits survey, break- fast, lunch and brunch were the topics of discussion. The members discovered new ways of making these meals more interesting. All members_participated in making ,.Healthy Peanut Bread,. Energy Squares, Peanut Butter and Carrot Spread and Potato Cheese Chowder a la Metric. The last two were enjoyed by all. The others will be eaten at the next meeting. The last day of filing forms for appeal of school sup- port is October 27, 1978. Sharon Baker Clerk of Zurich Michael Farrow presented a program in Calvary United Church Saturday which was excellent. Anniversary celebration Calvary United church celebrated its 126th an- niversary on Sunday with Rev. C, B. Carr, London, guest speaker at both the morning and evening ser- vice. Special music was provided by the combined Grand Bend and Dashwood United church choirs. In the evening Mrs. Don Weigand sang a solo. Personals Mr. & Mrs. Irvin Rader and Stacey visited in Bayfield, Saturday, with Mr. & Mrs. Frank Burch and Mr. & Mrs. Niel Mustard of Mississauga who were at their summer home. Michael and Amy Rader were house guests with Mr. ylnlllnlllllllllllllln111nnnlllllne..... & Mrs. Charles Martene for the weekend. While Stacey Rader spent the weekend with her grandparents, her brother, Derek, was at Zion with his aunt and uncle and family, Mr. & Mrs. Fred Miller. - Mrs. Freida Keller spent Sunday at Goderich with Mr. & Mrs. Ken Keller and family. Mr. & Mrs. Albert Miller spent last weekend with Mr. & Mrs. Robert Miller and Joel, Port Elgin. Mrs. Gordon Bender, Mrs. Mervyn Tiernan and Mrs. Eben Weigand attended The Regional of the UCW at Chiselhurst, Monday. SINGSPIRATION AT DASHWOOD — The 60 voices of "Singspiration" from Calvary United Church London presented an evening of entertainment Saturday, at Calvary United Church in Dashwood. The group has performed in many communities throughout south western On- tario.
