Mrs. Mary Beth Hoy of London daughter-in-law of Mr. & Mrs. Harry Hoy was a panel member -on CFPL TV's "Inquiry" last Sunday _ when the subject of "Parent Finders" was discussed. Mrs. ,Mabel Shirray was in Orangeville last week arranging the funeral of her aunt, the late Mrs. Ethel Mae Tremain. Mr. & Mrs. William Mickle and John, Exeter, spent Sunday with the former's mother; Mrs. Laird Mickle. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Corbett moved into the residence they recently purchased from Mr. and Mrs. T. Shepherd on Richmond street south. Home economist talks to W.I. Some of the highlights of her trip to Europe were given by Mrs. Rena Caldwell at the Hensall Women's Institute meeting held in the Legion Hall on Wednesday. Hensall Hilda Payne Bertha McGregor , Miss Bea -McClenaghan Home Economist then showed a film on Energy Conservation" followed by the members receiving question and answer sheets on energy conservation. Mrs. Myrtle Sherrittthanked both speakers and presented Miss McClenaghan with a gift. The program opened with a sing -song, and closed with Mrs. Elizabeth Riley giving courtesy remarks, A total of 17 members answered the roll call, "Name a Canadian export and its destination" and three guests were present. The president, Mrs. Joyce Pepper chaired the meeting and opened with a poem, "Reasons for life." Correspondence included an invitation to Seaforth Women's Institute the previous night which regretfully no-one had been able to attend; a cheque from Exeter Fall Fair committee for the Women's Institute exhibit; a letter from the Provincial Secretary of Social Developement requesting support and participation of the Institute to help develop awareness and enthusiasm for International Year of the Child (IYC) and to promote activity on behalf of our children; and a letter from the Home Economist, Miss Bea McClenaghan an- nouncing the short course on "Home Decorating" to be held in the County. Mrs. Jessie McAllister reported on the morning session of the Fall Rally held in Londesboro on Monday, October 2 and Mrs. Joyce Pepper read a report prepared by Mrs. Hilda Payne on the afternoon session. The rally is to be held in Huron South in 1979 - place to be chosen at a later date. In other business, the president thanked everybody who had helped in any way with the Women's Exhibit at the fairs and announced that the 64th Annual Convention for London Area would be held at the Banqueter in London on November 1 and 2 but was unable to find a delegate to attend. Plans were then finalized for the Dessert Euchre to be held in the Legion Hall on October 18 and after the November meeting schedule was reviewed the meeting closed with the Queen. Hostesses, Mrs. Eileen Ramie and Mrs. Winnie Skea and their committee - served a lovely lunch; programme conveners. were Mrs. Pearl Koehler and Mrs. Myrtle Sherritt. 4-H Clubs Hensall one, the Cookie Monsters 4-H Club held their third meeting on Tuesday. The meeting started with the roll call and then all went into the kitchen and made cheese chowder. Mrs, Pepper had brought peanut butter and apple spread and Linda Zwann brought pumpkin, banana and peanut butter loaves and all tried everything. Everybody got a title page called the Cooking Monsters. Then the meeting was adjourned on a motion from Sandra Nixon and Janice Campbell. , Hensaii 441 club number 2, held their third meeting at the Hensall United Church on Tuesday. The president opened by saying the Pledge and then the members tasted Potato Cheese Chowder _and. Peanut Butter and Carrot spread. Everybody did lesson three in the books and then melted fat was made in the kitchen before the meeting was adjourned. • Hensall United Church The service at Hensall United Church on Sunday was conducted by Rev. Garnett Husser who preached on the subject, "Open that door." Mrs. Donna St. John sang a solo, "How lovely are Thy dwellings" by Liddle ac- companied by Mrs. Marianne McCaffrey on the organ and Dr. Ralph Topp at the piano. The children now leave for Sunday School during the last verse of the Children's Hymn. The new telephone number for the minister is 262-3245. Hensall seniors talk crafts The Hensall Senior Citizens met in the local hall on Tuesday evening with the President Mrs. Bertha MacGregor presiding and opened by singing "0 Canada" with Mrs. Laird Mickle at the piano. Following the Roll Call and minutes the Treasurer Mrs. Bert Horton gave the bill and financial statement. The Carpet Bowling on Mon- day afternoon and Crafts on Friday, was discussed and members asked to attend. A letter was read stating a Musical Revue featuring "The Scott Family" will be presented in the Wingham High School on Saturday, October 28th at 8 p.m. The entertainment committee: Dick and Pearl Taylor and Dorothy Brintnell directed Euchre and the social com- mittee: Myrtle Sherritt, Jessie McAllister and Elizabeth Alexander served lunch. Prize winners were: Ladies' lst Elizabeth Riley; Gent's 1st Pere Campbell; .Lone Hands: Emma Campbell; Consolation: Vera Ross; Lucky Chair: Vera Lemmon. The evening concluded by singing "The Queen". QIJEENSWAY Church service was con- ducted Tuesday at The Queensway Nursing Home by Rev. Loshbough from the Baptist Church in Exeter ac- companied at the piano by Mrs. Loshbough.
