REINSTALLING THE HYDRANT — As part of Hensall's ongoing program to revise services
this fire hydrant at the corner of Richmond and Albert was being moved to a position inside of
the sidewalk. Moving the hydrant into position are Clarence Reid and Gary Maxwell.

six week visit to her former
home in Germany where she
attended the 25th wedding
anniversary of her sister in
East Germany. She also

trip for Mrs. Schroeder.
U.C.W. Meeting
The Stewardship Com-
mittee with Mrs. Bruce Guy
chairlady was in charge of
the September meeting of
the United Church Women of
Calvary Church.

"Love Lifted Me," followed

by prayer by Mrs. Hugh
Boyle and scripture reading
by Mrs. Guy.Meditation was
read by Mrs. Syd Neeb.
Rev. Bruce Guy was the
speaker and showed in-
teresting pictures. Mrs.
Mildred Kellerman read a
letter from the sponsored
girl, Andriane, in Taipei.
Fifteen members answered
the roll call. The Sunshine
Committee is Mrs. Ken
McCrae and Mrs. -Eben
Weigand.
Lutheran Ladies Aid
Zion Lutheran Ladies Aid
held their September
meeting Wednesday, Sep-
tember 13 with group 2 in
charge of Devotions and
lunch.
The meeting opened with a
hymn and prayer followed
by the topic by Pastor M.
Mellecke who in keeping
with school opening gave a
Geography lesson on the
Holy Land. It is 150 miles
long with the highest
mountain' 9,200 feet and
average temperature about
17 degrees C.
President Mrs. Lorne
Genttner dealt with the
business. Eighteen members
and one visitor, who later
joined were present. The
Altar Guilds for the summer
months gave their reports
and the new Guild is Mrs.
Elmer Keller and Mrs. Mayo
Mellecke.
The ladies are invited to
Goderich September 20 to
hear a special speaker on
Mental Retardation.
The annual ladies aid fowl
supper will be held October
11 with Group 3 in charge.
Flowers for the church have
been purchased from
donations made by Mrs.
Albert Vassler, Mrs, Oluf
Pedersen and Mrs. Frieda
Hayter. Mrs. Irvin Rader
had closing devotions.
